Re: Is OBX soundside still foilable?

i was there last june. it was pretty much as described, constant jumping off to clear the foil. i consider it unfoilable.

Re: Wing Foil in the Lightest Winds Possible With a Downwind Board

i've used my Starboard Hypernut (7'4"x30") to wing foil. 8m North Light Wind wing. It worked 'well' for me in 11-16 mph, which i never could wing in with my normal gear. i quoted 'well' because it got me up and going, but not sure how much fun it really was. but it was more fun than sitting on the b...

Any tips for exiting with shore break?

i've been hammered a few times in the past week coming out of the water when the shore break has been kind of bad. no problem getting in and facing it, but just leaving it. i typically go as close to shore as possible before jumping off my board and without bottoming out. i then release my leash to ...

Re: Serious crash

that's a bad one. it is amazing to me how many wingers have no idea what's going on around them. the fact that our sight is limited under the wing should force us to be more aware and vigilant, not less.

Re: Down Sizing Foil Board for Kite

i had a Galaxy 4'2" for foiling and loved it. then one day (after many years of use) it snapped in half under my weight. and as we all know, LF is out of the business, so i got a 115 cm board (3'10") and have never really liked it as much as the Galaxy. i find the slightly smaller boards give less l...

Re: UFO V2 - which size will work for me?

i use the 6M V2 UFO for anything above 15 mph. i'm 90 kgs. i never loop it to get going, but rather do figure 8's (no actual loops, just whipping back and forth)...same as with my Peaks. After several months flying the UFO, I really don't like using my remaining Peak 8m anymore. The Peak is great fo...

Re: Shorten my board

i've actually found going shorter made my riding less lively and reactive. i went from 125cm to 115 cm, and have never really felt as good on my newer shorter board. maybe i'm wrong, but i feel there is something about the leverage of a slightly longer board that gives you more control over the foil...

proving why ARTIFICIAL intelligence is so named. We'd all be better off following ACTUAL intelligence.
