Re: I give in

No problem your 8 m2 will be perfect for learning, as you will need 16 mph wind for the first times out and an 8 m2 is quite slow because of its size. an 8M is slow because it's size?! maybe i'm misunderstanding, but the Airush 8M is a very fast kite, as are almost all 8M kites. maybe you mean the ...

Re: I give in

i'm not sure about using an 8M Wave to start learning. That kite is lightning fast (I own it and the 10M Wave), and I think something a bit slower is actually a benefit for beginner foiling. In really light winds, you'll have to whip that 8M around, and that will take away from what should be your m...

Re: Foiling behind a boat

behind the boat you don't have the type of control you have while kiting. it takes time to signal 'slow down' or 'speed up' and for it to actually happen behind a boat, whereas it's all fairly instant kiting. i personally didn't like it much, but i can see how it could be used as a beginner tool. i ...

Re: Foiling behind a boat

i went about 13 mph, but believe that was too fast. depends on what you're doing...riding wake or just cruising. overall, i found it to be about as much fun as watching paint dry.

Re: Light Years Ahead - The Airush Ultra V2

having a 12M UL, it's hard to see (literally) any difference between the two versions. i think it's a good kite for foiling, but i never thought weight was a big issue for this kite. contrary to their claims, it does not relaunch well. quite often that long thin strut can get stuck down in the wate...

throw out a cryptic ad and they get responses from 'sounds great' to 'been there, done that'. seems the ad did what it was meant to...create a buzz.

Re: Surf/kite wing crossover (impulse) for lighter rider

i'm about 205 lbs, use the Impulse. I learned on the LF standard wing. I couldn't believe how much extra lift there was with the Impulse, but quickly learned to get more of my weight up front. Now it just feels natural. So even for me, there was a big difference initially, but i suspect everyone cou...
