Re: 2014 Airush Sector V5 vs 2014 Cabrinha

I'll second the Monaro Slalom 65. Super fast board, goes in very little wind, MUCH easier to gybe than a full 70cm course board and generally more versatile. Obviously it won't keep up with a full course board upwind but for everything else I reckon it'd do well. Slayer 58 is also an enormous amount...

Re: Lightwind kite for heavy rider?

Like a couple of people have said here already, one size/shape/model of kite may not work for everyone. If you can, always try ad get a demo and see for yourself. That said, I've had some amazing sessions now on the 18m Airush Vantage. Best lightwind inflatable I've flown so far in 15 years of kitin...

Re: Airush Vantage 18m?

I've managed three sessions on the 18m Vantage now and I'm very impressed. Most recent of those being last night on this year's Slayer 58. Great fun, everyone else had come in with 12-15m kites and I was the only one out enjoying 7-10 knots with gusts of 12. Water was like silk with shin to knee hig...

Re: 2010 Nobile NHP 135x44 or 2011 Shinn Monk 135x44

I'm approx 90kg and ride a Monk 135x42. Great board: super smooth, fast, planes early, loads up well and releases cleanly. I wasn't sure on board size but I'm confident that the 42 is right for me. At 6kg lighter than me I reckon the 135x44 could be too big for you, unless you're consistently riding...

Re: Ocean Rodeo Predator

Got my Predator a while back but not used it until Sunday. First time back on the water for a year and first time ever in the Predator. Super stoked with both the suit and my return session! No problems using it with a waist harness and found that getting it on/off in real world conditions was damn ...

Re: Any Harnesess recommendation?

you should try the Flying objects -flight controll waist harness... its sweet! +1 for the Flying Objects 'Flight Control' - best waist harness I've ever used; even better than the original Pyro. As for seat harnesses, only one I ever found that didn't crush the family jewels at every opportunity wa...

Best light-wind board for heavy rider?

Hi all, I've decided I need a light-wind board to keep me riding on those days where all the skinny b@st@rds are planing and I'm sinking like a stone! I weigh in at 232lb/105kg, ride an 18m BEST BFK as my light-wind kite and a 127 Naish 'Stubbie' as my main board. Been looking at loads of different ...

Dakine 'Nitrous', without a doubt. Used to hate seat harnesses and the associated atomic wedgies & tweaked nuts, but this is the comfiest harness I've ever used. You can set the bar height pretty much where you want and it doesn't ride up. Now use an old Pyro for ground boarding and the Nitrous on t...
