Re: North Mono for Waveriding - Your Experience?

I'm doing OK on the monos on the HF and surf they are good for me.
But WTF do I know.
Peter, if you were going to get a new quiver of LEI kites for foiling 80%, shitty wave wave kiting 20%, which model and sizes would you get? 8 to 22 knots on HF, 18-28 knots on surfboard.

Re: Opinion on lessons

I spent 3 sessions, was getting up and surface riding without control, drifting downwind mostly. Took a break for winter because it was late September by then. Went to Mexico and booked 4 hrs of private instruction with radio. After that I was flying back N forth, upwind, downwind, not a lot of cont...

Re: North Mono for Waveriding - Your Experience?

I have Mono 7-9-12. Try work well for me on HF and waveboard. I wouldn't say they have great top end, more low-end and easy power delivery, light bar pressure, reactive steering in all trim states, but they turn very predictably.
I've not ridden a Neo or Reo.

Re: New North Foil's 'PA Carbon Mix 50'

NorCal,
Yes PA being a thermoplastic. But those thicknesses, if injection molded would deform from cooling shrink. I wonder if they are compression molding over a Core.
Big time tooling costs! But lower piece cost.

Re: roll stability of foils?

Ah, now I get it. I'm not experienced enough using different mast length, or taking off that way. I'm still doing the get up out of water, gain speed and lift off stage. Sometimes I pop right up on foil from water, but it's kinda accidental. I'm using 93cm mast ( strut) , Moses 550+330 and it takes ...

Re: roll stability of foils?

I've been going through these threads but what I understood that 330 keeps foil vertical well and that's what I'm struggling with in lighter winds during starts, it's much harder to edge initially. That might be because of long, 42" mast too but I don't know which is a stronger factor here and if s...
