flying foot switch - advice needed

I am comfortable doing heel to toeside and toeside to heelside carves. Not both ways yet. But one direction for each. I'm goofy footed. But my foot switch is on surface, pretty quick heel to toeside switch at touch down, then fly up again and turn. or after heel to toeside gybe, I touch down and swi...

Re: Moses 2018

Tex,
I'm surprised how much I have adapted to the conditions here in Cabarete. The chop/swell/current against the wind creates the most turbulent and confused water I ever kited in.
Then theres the overhead swell coming over the reef.
I think it takes a few sessions.

Re: Moses 2018

After 4 sessions on the 550 here and getting used to the conditions, I took the 590 today with fully powered 9m Mono on 20m lines. Had depower strap all the way in too. I've also become accustomed to my new board, and stance. I have to say now it's a really good wing. It at low speed it stalls very ...

Re: More wings, the hard way?

Within 5 years you will be able to 3d print a carbon composite wing and screw it onto your fuselage and use it for a long time. It will be accessible to many.
Within 2 years it will be possible, but cost prohibitive.
Check out what MarkedForged is doing. They are soon there.

Re: More wings, the hard way?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5tp4QXciK4&t=7s This guy helped me break though the wall of frustration with fusion 360. Once you understand a little you can follow the time line of someone else's wing design to see how they get the curves in different planes. And there is a free way to get fusion...

Re: More wings, the hard way?

Designing in Cad is an art form. I've been doing it 30 years, and work with Cad modellers that are craftsmen. Getting a cnc or 3d printer to do what you need and want to do is the same as using a handtool. Just different. And complicated. I come from a background of craft and model making from t-squ...

Re: Dakhla spot and Hotels recommendation

Dahkla Attitude is good. The reception people are a bit tricky, trying to get tips/ bribes, but otherwise OK. I went there with a company that arranges trips from Sweden, and the guide navigated and arranged downwinder etc. So it went smoothly. Without the guide, who has leverage with the people on ...

Re: Moses 2018

I've been out 2 times now on the 550 here in Cabarete bay. Still squally, gusty variable winds and mega choppy, confused sea with 1m cross chop. Yesterday I was out on my 7m totally over powered, today from underpowered to overpowered. The 550 is still the best for these conditions, which is what I ...
