Re: North American Championships 2013

What were the wind conditions for this. Very novice kiteracer - but seemed everyone was riding fully powered upwind. Wouldnt there be advantage to going up a kite , or are downwinds really power reaches and not true downwinds? Downwinds are true downwinds - 45 deg off true downwind on 17-15sqm kite...

Re: How do you handle sea weed ?

This is something where rules could make sense. Just ban fins with a rake angle smaller than 40 degrees for competitions in areas with weed ! Does it make sense to replace a three-fin setup with a dual weed setup? That is the extra area and backward center of lift characteristic for weed fins could...

Re: Current Competitive Race Boards

It is literally impossible to make a honest ranking - firstly no one has compared all the 2013 boards (bolded on IKA list) using same fins and same kites. Secondly - all top riders are biased, they prefer one or another style of riding or feeling of the board. My personal experience is that the boar...

There is a manual attached to every pad and strap set (it is when the board leaves the factory). Read it guys and quit thinking so much.

And proper factory setting suits 99% of the people.

Guys, your're being to picky. Ten4's trick might be not the most stylish s-bend i've ever seen but it's definitely a s-bend. Not much different form the one form PKRA site. Lukasz - kite is at about 45 degrees - what is low enough for you? Moreover, to finish the rotation (and not land on your ass) ...

The key point is to bend your knees before you grab the board. And when you straighten them, rotate (120-150 degrees in my case) in frontside direction. If you don't rotate the bar will be right in your face. Rotating back before landing should be no problem when hooked in. Less rotation is needed w...

Going upwind on the Yarga 20m is more about the board than the kite It's unquestionably true for almost any given kite ;) Alex, if you want to find excuses for that kite, try a bit harder ;) And it's unquestionable that Yarga 20m is the worst big kite I've ridden so for in terms of going upwind. Fa...

Raven 20M is the slowest kiet on the market (or very close to). Forget tuning, sell it and get something else. I agree it's got nice upperend but usually it's not something you're looking for buying a 20m, right?

2005 Yarga 20m is a great kite for wakestyle downwinders. And for nothing more - great equal pull, nice kiteloops (for a 20m size) but no kite jumps (it's to slowmoving to get you higher than 2-4meters) and going upwind is a nightmare. If you're into something else than wakestyle downwinders go for ...
