Have you ridden the board as a regular snowboard and gone switch with it? I have ridden both styles of boards with a kite and to me it isn't that big of a deal, now that also depends on your goals but if you are a beginner just wanting to cruise you should be allright. I wouldn't run out and buy ano...

I own a PL V19 and V13. They are nice kites for sure but as everyone else has said earlier they are not good when the winds are sluggish although there are some really neat mods to be done for low wind that greatly increase their usability in the lower wind range.

there was another post done on lightwind boards and I asked the question on floatyness. What is the benefit of a "floaty" board versus just good planability?

if panchito says he gets more low end what is the benefit of float?

+ wider mid tip width = 2 knots better low end

also an owner of a LFT this is the only board I have as I am a beginner but must say that after reading a lot of lightwind stuff it seems as the flydoors and glides are the way to go. Since they plane faster and hold an edge better than the LFT.

here is a thing ive always wondered about, how much does floating capabilities play in vs planing capabilities.

would a flydoor that would be lets say 2" thick (floaty fill) be better than a regular flydoor?

Would float correlate more to rider weight?
