Re: Sorry, your used gear is worth nada

Sorry, new gear is worth nada. As in it's nada going to happen (selling) at those ridiculous prices. Companies are loosing sight on reality. Changing colors and graphics annually with very little to no updates in performance and construction is bs and not sustainable. Raising prices to pay their ath...

Re: Any lightwind-specific surfboards left on the market?

The Slingshot Supernatural may interest you. It’s a hybrid so to speak. You can set it up like a twin or directional. It has several fin orientations to dial it in for the conditions and/or preference. The 146 would work best in light winds. Best used with straps, but can work strapless like a skimb...

Re: Any lightwind-specific surfboards left on the market?

A few years of trying to like riding a foil later - I'm happy to admit a total failure. Not my thing - feel absolutely no joy riding one despite getting pretty good at it. As such - considering getting back to the lightwind surfboard "plan B" instead. But it looks like - there isn't much left on th...

Re: Recommandations for a new twintip

Thanks guys for your feedback and advice ! I ride Padics bindings (which are amazing btw) and I awaiting a response from them if the pads are compatible with centerline inserts boards (I probably should have started by that  ). If there are, I think I will buy a North Atmos Carbon in 138, the...

No soft foam for the rail! It needs to be pretty stiff, and not too low.
Epic has their foam grab. It's not low and looks pretty stiff.

Re: Board flips (Bad handle?)

I would not mind a professional company making kiteboarding rails that do everything we want, durable, sticks great to the board, and not slippery, but I guess the market is too niche. North doesn't' feel it's niche. They have their Grab-It grab rails. I assuming that you haven't tried the CrabGrab...

Re: Recommandations for a new twintip

Elevate Process C+ I tried it with my Takoon Lux but couldn't get the angle right. My bad, the Process does have asymmetric inserts. I looked up the Takoon Lux footstraps. They have the older style symmetrical footstrap position. With only three slots on the strap, mounting it toe-ward on an inline...

Re: Recommandations for a new twintip

If you want inline inserts, these are about it for production boards. North Atmos or Pro version Slingshot Formula or Misfit Naish Motion or Drive Elevate Process C+ I'm not really sure why you think you need inline inserts. Once adjusted, bindings will sit centered on the board. You can even push t...

Re: Board flips (Bad handle?)

the crab rails are meant for skateboards or snowboards, not twintips. Pretty hard to catch. Big rails are easy to catch. The guys that I've seen using them have the big CrabGrab rails. I'd bet it's because of what you're saying, bigger being easier to catch. I've only seen pics of others using some...

How hard is it to make a nice handle?
I'm sorry to use Jmounts again as an example, but why not make something like their Handle Blocks? Then you can use the handle of your choice and make it taller. Simple.
Ftr, I'm not associated with them, just aware. :thumb:
