Re: Wave Kites

From an Australian point of view the wave kites of choice for 2014 are:

Ozone - Reo
North -Dice
Grifffin -TRX
BWS - Noise

All good, but all a little different to each other. This is what I have narrowed it down to. Now doubt there are 10 other brands out there.

Re: New to forum, help please

I know I will be hated for this, but given the background of this guy and the sports he has been involved in, I would simply get a 2 hour lesson on all the safety aspects. As long as he has a mate standing by to help launch and retrieve. The sports he has mentioned all involve lots of risk mitigatio...

Re: xenon prisma 6.0 2012

Just got my new Prisma, 6 foot. I weigh about 95kg (210lbs), 6,2 (187cm). Ridden in waves below 4foot and mushy slop over multiple days. Will do a proper review once I have ridden it enough to have a comprehensive view.. Here is what I know so far. Great, fun board. Fantastic flex feel (more like a...

Re: surfboard design and keeping the rear foot on the deckpa

Don't have the answers, but I agree. I use my paddle board as my kite board and the back foot while kiting is always about "a foot width" further forward. I suspect it is something to do with weight shift as well. When paddle surfing I find that I throw my weight forward and back more. Think of a fo...

Re: Natural Goofy foot

Had the same problem myself.

I got behind a boat for a day with my kiteboard. After a few face plants... Solved... well sort of, it still takes a bit of getting used to, but this seemed the quickest way.

Re: North Fuse 2010 turning speed compared with North Rebel

The short answer is that the Rebel turns more quickly than the Fuse. The long answer (from this post: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2360817): On a personal note, I just had a session on the Fuse 7. Especially for a small kite, the loft is amazing. -Dan Thanks Dan, It is truly hard to imagine a kite with ligh...

Re: The Zephyr (Ozone’s new light wind kite)

Not much to add here, it's a fantastic kite that I have flown all summer (we are southern hemisphere). Does what it should and a bit more. Surprisingly, well behaved and easy to manage when the wind picks up unexpectedly. Never flown Ozone before, but really happy with this purchase. It's a light wi...

Re: So many choices.

I think I have reached utopia - for a big guy 95kg (210pounds). 2009 17m Ozone Zephyr 2010 12m North Fuse 2010 9m North Fuse 2010 7m North Fuse Admittedly, I share my kites with the two young'ns at about 65kg & 70kg each, also have a spare 11m 2009 Sonic and an 2006 8m Sonic. Works for me. :D
