Re: My tube is wet

salt inside is no issue for kites. I have had this a few times and it doesn't affect the bladder. There will be millions of salt crystals between the outside of the bladder and dacron already. Try and drain the kite and pump up a few times. The pressure of air rushing out when deflating the main bla...

Re: question for line experts - chickenloop line strength

Yes that's over specced. The chickenloop line is covered by PU coated plastic, so has little to no wear. Your front lines are likely to be 350kg eash, so offer up 700ish kg... so 1150kg is loads.. Use a Dyneema SK99. "Southern Ropes" do an excellent rope for this - "Super-12" http://www.southernrope...

flysurfer speed V Sonic

Hello, I am considering getting either a Flysurfer Speed 3 or 4 15m, or a Sonic 15m (82kg Shinn Monk 134cm, UK winds). How much higher and longer does the Sonic 15m take you compared to the 15m speed ? Initially I was looking at the speed for 10 to 20mph, but now thinking the sonic. Want a good loft...

Re: Pump my Kite, right!

6 PSI on all Dutone kites... :o wow..seems very low. I ride all my Naish Torch's on 9 to 10 PSI and have never blown a kite. Dacron is super strong, the leading edge is double nylon stitched.

Re: German online shops, info plz !

Got my new Torch sat here now. Ordered a wetsuit from www.you-love-it.com last night and shipped this afternoon. I appreciate they have been very slow in the past, but I am happy to buy from them again.

New lines - Dyneema Sk99

Reading a few things online where people say the new Dyneema Sk99 lines makes the kite much more responsive versus the older and much weaker Sk75 Dyneema lines. Has anyone noticed this or made some lines of Dyneema SK99 recently ? (ideally 1.6mm) Just found a great new Drneema for those interested -...

Re: Sewing line loops...

I disagree, sleeving is essential for kitesuring lines. Where the knot connects to the kite you get salt and sand in the knot and movement. My lines have just been changed and the sleeving had worn through to the while dyneema, without that sleeving the lines would have snapped long ago. The reason ...

Re: Sewing line loops...

Hand sew it with a strong nylon thread. Takes a few minutes and you will get much better tension on the thread, just not as neat.
