Re: Hatteras to get another new bridge ... this one sucks.

Here is a picture I got today from a friend who just got back from OBX just before the Hurricane hit.

Looks like it's a done deal. Stupid, but done.

Re: 2018 Axis Limited/Vanguard

Poach.....I have the 148 and 134 as a demo if you want to swing down Madison and try one or buy it and if you don't like it, I'll take it back.

Pretty much no risk.

Going to OBX in Oct?

Hope they all survive this week.

Re: Hatteras to get another new bridge ... this one sucks.

Grigory.......you're picture has been my same argument for a LONG time. Not sure why that isn't the best solution since it seems to satisfy all the home owners sound side and then it takes the bridge out into the Sound so it doesn't hurt Pea Island. Problem is now it's just too late. Maybe the owner...

Re: Hatteras to get another new bridge ... this one sucks.

Does anyone know for certain that kiting will NOT be allowed inside the jug handle bridge? There appears to be a large area of water on the inside of the bridge, and I'm sure kayaks, SUPs, fishing skiffs, etc. will use that area. My guess is there isn't a kiting prohibition (yet). It's possible the...

Re: Great Lakes beaches?

The key missing factor is when are you going to be here. Depending on wind strength and direction, you could go anywhere from Sheboygan on the WI side down the entire lake and up the other side in Michigan. It all depends on the direction. I live in Madison, Wi., but travel a lot to Lake Michigan fo...

Re: Cabrinha Moto - new Kite 2019

Cabrinha added the Moto and dropped the Apollo.... Say it ain't so. I picked up a 12 m Apollo mid way through last season. Mainly as an experiment. Loved it. Every time I had a session on that kite, I came back to the shore with a smile on my face. So much so that I subsequently picked a 10 m Apoll...

Re: slingshot H2 or H4 for learning jibing and tacking

I ride all the SS foils and wings a lot and know them very well. Both the H2 (new Gamma 2019 foil) and H4 (Space Skate) are higher lift foils and very stable. I'd actually give the overall nod to the H2 (Gamma) for stability. It's wider. Both are very stable and early lift foils, but go about it di...

Re: slingshot H2 or H4 for learning jibing and tacking

Seems to me like a really bad idea to change foils that early in the learning process. Doing so precludes you from getting the muscle memory down because you are dealing with different foils with different characteristics each session. I agree 100%. Don't change anything at all for quite some time....

Re: beginner hydrofoiler questions

What are optimal wind speeds for my 1st attempts at hydrofoil? Am I better off with larger(slower) kite or smaller(faster) kite. I am 165 lbs. Twin tipper for 10+ yrs and would call myself intermediate. Directional surf board limited experience. 1 out of 10 jibes and the 1 I make ain`t pretty. Than...
