Re: Naish Park 2012: upwind performance?

Rode the 2012 6m and 8m for almost a month straight in Maui this past fall. The only guys who consistently had better upwind angles were the raceboard guys. Can't touch them. there's something about being REALLY powered up on a kite that has very light feel. You can really crank upwind and not get b...

Re: Best surfboard shape/fins/thickness for upwind?

Funny you mentioned that, I felt the same thing, so I called Slingshot and they are sending me out another set of rubber strips so I can cut them and insert them with the straps on and use the un-cut pair when I ride strapless. I will see how it works out... X that's the only solution i could think...

Re: Best surfboard shape/fins/thickness for upwind?

i really did like the shape of the Celertias as shown in the pic - and it wasn't that stiff/hard for a prod board. But the metal track system for the straps has to go - it's a toe slicing nightmare. Yes, they include a strip of rubber to put in the track so you don't slice your toes - but you have t...

Re: Anyone on Maui right now who can help with a forecast

been to maui many times - including most of this October. Rode everyday - mostly on a 6m - nothing bigger than an 8m as far as "gusty" is concerned - not sure what you expect when it's 30-35mph. i only ride strapless and have never found it too gusty to ride. it's wind dude - nobody can control it y...

Re: Gopro HD (case probelm)

Another bit of props to the GoPro company.

I wrecked a surf mount and a GoPro case and all was replaced free of charge in less than a week.

They rock!

Re: Naish bolt 12 2011

Just check your lines on your bar.

at full power they should all be the same length.

Tie them to something strong and put some tension on to see what needs to be adjusted.

If you don't feel comfortable give your bar to an experienced rider and have them check your lines for you.
