Cliff Notes version: All flat kites that are not licensed from Legaignoux Brothers suck. I've used the Crossbow 3 times, the GK Sonic once and the Rapture II once. The Crossbow is fantastic. In powered up conditions and insanely gusty conditions it has well and truly proved itself. Underpowered it ...

Thanks for the replies. I really really like the Crossbow. I am just curious if there is anything about the Shockwave to Turbo Diesel to make them worth waiting for. Besides, today we had an impromptu start of season kite festival and red 12m Crossbows outnumbered all other kites 3 to 1. It gets har...

Shockwave, Turbo Diesel Bar Pressure

I am wondering if the Shockwave or Turbo Diesel offers any improvements over the Crossbow, specifically in bar pressure. Yesterday I had one of my best ever kite sessions riding my mate's Crossbow 12m. Fantastic board speed. Slashing transitions. Decent jumps. Blasting upwind much faster like a sail...

According to the Naish rep here, the 9 is excellent , the 12 is sluggish ... The real slug here is Naish.TV - I'm on a dsl line in South Africa, and am able to watch streaming media without problems. The Naish TV site is the most sluggish, poor performing media site I've ever been to. I can't watch...

You have to wonder about he marketing genius who did not forsee the short form STD sexually transmitted disease (STD). It probably states the obvious that the marketing genius did foresee the shortform and deliberately used the term. It certainly slots in nicely with Slingshots image. Go out ... dr...

For hangtime and glide you want a flat kite. Either a Crossbow (or similar) or a bridled foil.

For rip-roaring balls to the wall go up really fast and come back down just as fast a conventional C-kite is the go.

Big Ben sounds like you need to chill, if the forum is bollocks why post on it? Having surfed and windsurfed for 22 years there have been times when due to wind chill I have felt colder out of the water than in but then what do I know. :bye: Hey Big Ben. I'll add my 30 years of cold water surfing a...

We were further down the bay at Hampton in a few knots less wind. Say 10-12 knots. For the first hour my 16m foil and a Crossbow 16 were the only kites out. I was well powered and cruising. Jumping at will and riding almost anywhere I wanted. The Crossbow was working hard but doing ok. An 18-20m C-K...

Of course you are better off with the optimum kite size for the conditions. But: - You can launch with a big kite early in the afternoon, just keep riding as the sea breeze builds, and still be out when the wind starts to drop. - You don't have to think so much about what size kite to put up when co...
