Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Jumptheshark, I think 5m Peak4 same low end as 8m Cloud D EXCEPT diving or looping the Cloud a little more grunt for getting butt out of water for start. Also - interesting what jakemoore said about 11m tip collapse fully sheeted out in high wind range. I experienced such tip collapsing on my 5m for...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Jumptheshark, comparing my 5m Peak4 with my 6m and 8m Cloud Ds, using the same 24m lines, I believe the upwind ability hydrofoiling is virtually the same = good enough for my surfing and freestyle. Hope that helps.

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

First hydrofoil surf sesion back to back 5m Peak4 vs 6m Cloud. Both were right size for side on wind mid teen to 20 kph. I am not a good surf kiter but the comparison was easy: the Peak was as nice in every way and drifted down wind down the line much better, so kite looping was less necessary, more...

Re: Monofoil or "riding stabless", setup and riding

Oyvind please, please keep experimenting. A fuselage and stab are a total nuisance when we are transporting our foils and when we are tangled up with them in the water. Maybe it is you that can find a mounting position for the wing, and a size and shape of wing, that lets most of us do without the f...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I'll second or third what some others have said. The Peak4, at least in the 5m size, the only small Peak I've tried, is very responsive without being twitchy or too fast or anything but fun if you are not into jumping. It goes upwind about as well as 6m and 8m Clouds which were my previous favorites...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

My Peak4 better gust muncher than my Clouds for sure. Also a little more resistant to back stall if pull bar back too far too long. I find the little fluttering not tiresome. My 5m Peak4 substitutes well for my 6m and 8m Cloud Ds, so I recommend 5m Peak4 for jatem.

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Hi,Jake. Denise says Hi, too. We now live in Colorado but come to South Padre Island Dec-May. Would like to see you again. Denise would let you try her monofoils. She rode the Peak4 8m [sorry, 11m, I have edited my earlier post] before me in the same low wind and, when she handed it over, said it tu...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Love my 5m Peak4 so much I"m looking forward to letting it flap riding waves down wind. Today foiling flat water in maybe 8 knot wind, on an 11m Peak4, was not fun. Plenty of pull to get going and then go up wind, but turning was PAINFULLY slow. Maybe a heavier rider on a slower platform of some sor...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Again I agree with all tomtom says. Though I didn't realize the flapping trailing edge when I push the bar out might be helping during launch, the kite certainly is a mellow down wind launcher. So far I also have found no need for a 5th line. I just use the same 4 line bar as on my LEI kites. Tomtom...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Another 10-20 knot day foiling with Peak 4, 5m. It handled the whole range well, as well as my LEI Cloud 8m normally would at the bottom end and Cloud 6m at the top end (almost). Yes the trailing edge flaps some when the kite is sheeted out. The kite munches gusts better than any LEIs I know. Maybe ...
