Why should the downwind rider look? He does not have eyes in the back of his head. Upwind jumper has responsibility to avoid collision.

So when running the lines for this bar, I assume you need to untwist the center lines prior to connecting to the kite. I suppose it could depend if the piece that broke was clearly intended to be used as safety leash attachment? If the manufacturer recommends another place to attach the safety leash then you may not have a valid case legally speaking...
