i broke my scaphoid some years ago, was told to be 3 months with a cast, and then the chances te heal are minimum, finally at the first month I had surgery, 2 screws and one more month with cast, it took me 4 months to go back to the water and nearly a year to recover the wrist strength.

Hi Vman, dont think you be able to kite in Padang, I`ve been there several times. It`s not In Java, it`s in Sumatra, and you are right that it face the Indian Ocean. My recomendation if you go there is to arrange a surf trip to th Mentawai`s, but there`s just for surf, not much wind normally
