Re: Flysurfer Sonic 2

I'm also curious how the sonic 2 18m compares to the sonic fr 18m. The 18m sonic fr is by far my favorite kite.

Re: SIA 2017 (Snow Fair Denver January 2017)

If you want to ride on Lake Dillon remember to bring some big kites. I've only used my 18m this season on the lake, and only have had about 2 to 3 sessions where it picked up for maybe 30 min.

The wind has been dead most of the season on Lake Dillon.

Re: Opinions. on snowboard bindings. for snowkiting

My favorite bindings for downhill and kiting are now overdrives, they have a bearing to pivot around instead of using the baseplate as a pivot point so you don't have to make them as tight to have them super responsive on hardpack. They are also full carbon highbacks and super expensive but can bomb...

Re: Flysurfer Sonic 2

I've set my personal limit for foil size to 15m. It turns slower than 17m LEI but pulls more, so I could very well use either one. And I have. But new 13m size of Sonic2 might be the best combination between power/handling. Me too, the other way around though -- tubes over about 12m are IMO too big...

Re: Kite surf to snow kite transition

Magnetraction works great, small kites for roaming around, big kites for jumping. I usually won't even jump much on anything smaller than a 15. If the wind dies when you're in the air, a 15 or 18 gives a much softer landing. If it's nuking out the old term keep it low and go applies, those days are ...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

:P Super day Saturday winds 16 - 20 MPH. Put down several miles of tracks. Unfortunately all back and forth in our little area. Maybe 1500' in one direction. Ended up on a ten meter foil. Somewhat disappointed by the kite. Would have liked to feel comfortable on my 15 in those winds. Conditions are...

Ha, yeah not enough snow anywhere up here yet, kind of odd for December. I'll probably just ride the resorts tomorrow instead.
