Re: New and need some questions answered

Nate -

I would say take the lesson first before buying any kind of gear. Not only for safety purposes, but also to ensure it's a sport you want to get into. After your lesson, your instructor may make recommendations on any gear (including trainer kites).

Good luck

Re: Does Pro Riders make you buy gear?

I've only been in the sport for a couple years, and really only ride at the intermediate level. I find it entertaining to watch the pros and learn from them when they are onsite at an event. I do believe that a lot of people wanting to learn about the sport ask "well.. what is he/she riding?" For th...

Re: Slingshot Turbo 3 Review

I found that to be a major issue with the T2 bar. If you released, the bar would practically go all the way to the kite, and there would be some kind of criss-cross or tangle one you got to the bar and reattach. The T3 bar is MUCH better in this regard.

Re: Best controlbar on a slingshot T2?

I have the exact same question. Anyone?

I have an 07' Best Bar (purchased with Waroo) and want to use that bar on a SS T2. The safety above the bar on the T2 Bar was a bad design if you ask me. Everything should be done beneath the bar (my preference). Are bars interchangable between kites?

Re: Time to get all a kite license!

It's interesting to see the different point of views and sides of this and other debates. I personally would support it. I have no problem spending a little extra time/money to ensure that individuals are meeting "safety regulations" of the sport. At some point, maybe far from now, it will be more r...

Re: how long to you drive to your local spot?

it was between 1-2 hours based on knowing of only 2 lakes that allowed it. Now, I'm glad to say I only have to drive about 15-20 minutes to kite at my local spot. As long as there is wind, I'll be over there practicing.

How often do you view and post in KITEFORUM?

I'm seeing little to no activity on a ton of interesting posts since 2005, 2006, and 2007. This is a great forum for beginners, btw!

So..how often do you view or post in KF?

Re: Seat or Waist Harness

I'm starting with a waiste. I've heard that seat is better on the low back and doesn't move out of place. Any problems with the waiste harness pinching on your junk though? Seems like it would be a bit uncomfortable. Also, any performance difference between the two?
