Some questions :)

I never unhook. Currently I ride 12m Vegas, 10m Epic Screamer, 8m Torch, 7m Bandit. I'm looking to boost bigger. I ride in the UK, gusty winds, big waves, lots of chop, big tides. I'm looking for a new 9m kite, I'm thinking Bandit (because I like my 7m) or Dice (because it is similar to my 12m). Whi...

Very common.

However, I do transition jumps very well one side only (I think, is 8m good?).
8m jumps is very good. 9m is getting massive.

10m for some reason is a good goal to aim for, but you'll need really good winds, nice ramps or amazing technique.

Re: Boosting only one way

I've been kiting for about 15 years. I only jump one way. I've started to learn to jump switch, but to be honest it isn't as much fun or as satisfying. It feels like writing with my left hand, just a bit weird. The way I approach kiting is that it is supposed to be fun, I'm not a pro, I don't need t...

Re: Naish Repair Hack

The octopus system has been easy to access for years now (although is was a pain before that). We rarely see a failure of the octopus strut connections. It is certainly more durable than systems with exposed hoses and nipples.. which we more often have to repair. This. I've had a few nipples break....

Re: Replacing a segment of my bridle

As long as I get it within a few mm exact on the length I shouldn't have a problem should I? I replace sections of bridle on most of my kites. Make sure you keep and label the original. I keep them in an envelope with a line drawing of how it attaches to the rest of the kite and notes on knots and ...

Re: 5/3 steamer recommendations

There's definitely a difference between ordinary surfing and kiting. I think surfers suits allow more shoulder rotation for padling so you get this back for warmth. This totally. I went from surf suits to kitesurf and the difference was great. Spend a bit extra for the fleece inner as it is warmer.
