Re: Kiting Guincho & Lagos - Portugal

Thanks for the heads up, sounds like my 10M may be a bit big. I've been kiting since '04, hopefully i can handle the spot!

Kiting Guincho & Lagos - Portugal

I'm traveling to Portugal next week to kite Guincho and Lagos. I tried searching past posts and am still a little fuzzy on what gear to bring. Does anyone have thoughts on what sized kites to bring? From what I understand for this time of year it's probably 10M at Guincho and 14M outside of Lagos wi...

Costa Rica - Kitehouse or Blue Dream?

Heading down to Bahia Salias for some (hopefully) nuking wind! Wanted to know whether it's more fun (for a 28 year old single guy) to stay at the kitehouse or blue dream hotel. I'm heading down with a buddy of mine who doesn't kite, so figured the better spot to just hang out would be appreciated on...

Re: Where to find blank kite bar (?)

thanks for the heads up on NSI. I like that they have just the bar - although $170 seems steep for only the bar. I can still remember the days when complete bars were $199!

Where to find blank kite bar (?)

Does anyone know where I can buy just a kite bar (no lines / rigging / chickenloop etc)? I like to customize my bars and prefer to replace parts as they wear out. The plastic insert on my best bar has now worn through and is starting to eat the chicken loop rope.

thx

Anyone riding in the OBX this coming week?

I just took a new job and unexpectedly have some extra time on my hands. I'm thinking about making a last minute trip down to the OBX in the next day or two for about a week. I plan on heading down solo and would be up for meeting up w. other riders for downwinders etc.

Tortola

I'm in the process of planning a trip down to Tortola on Feb 12 and staying at Sebastians (which I think is where you stayed). Does Nanny Cay work on NE through SE? I'm having a tough time getting my arms around the launches/wind in the BVI.

Many thanks!

As a follow up question to this post - does the sheeting system on the waroo bars provide a greater range of movement than those on C kite bars? Also - when modifying a C kite bar for the waroo should the front and rear lines be equal when the sheeting system is fully sheeted in (powered up) and the...

Going to throw my two cents in here.... Cabrinha customer service is very bad. My first kite (three years ago) was a Cabrinha - third time out, crash into the water & LE explodes. I describe what happened and send pics to their warranty dept. and am told its my fault that the stiching blew out. I di...
