Re: Kitersurfer drowns at Muriwai New Zealand.

So sad, RIP !!!

Can someone explain what "stuck in a rip" means!

Did he let go of his kite?
If not, one cannot drag out of a rip?

Didn't say no one.
The ones who have experience can handle it.

But not beginners or little experienced.

Re: No freestyle on worlds biggest kite event

Some competitions should be about this, but not all. Imagine just freestyle events like we had for a short time. So boring, lucky those times are over. What you don't get, I respect every discipline and every rider pushing it. There is dangerous and rough stuff out there. Fine. But not everyone thin...

Re: Fatality in NE Brazil

Even if you can swim doesn't mean you will get to where you want to go.

I had this 40m from shore...I thought I can swim too.
Got very lucky.

Re: Fatality in NE Brazil

No, he jumped and the kid fell down.
Since he was too powered he couldn't body drag back to the kid.
He released and tried to swim back...meanwhile some fishermen caught the kid.
And he drowned.

Sad story. RIP

Many take out childs...they love it.

But, 25-28 knots is strong wind...

And of course, offshore wind is a no go !!!
