Re: General questions about Cape Hatteras

Keep in mind that September and October, while good for both wind and cheaper accomadation, is also prime hurricane season. And with Hwy 12 being as thin and suceptable to being washed out, even a close miss can leave you stranded if the ferries aren't back up and running. Still, the OBX are worth i...

Re: Kite surfing schools in Egypt

I'd recommend Kevin and Di at Kite Junkies in Sharm. Pretty certain that's a good time of the year for wind there. Contact them and they get you sorted.

The Scoop on Vanuatu?

Anyone got any firsthand info on the Beachcomber Resort/Hotel in Vanuatu? Prices would be a nice start. Not having much luck getting through on the telephone number listed. Any information regarding transportation would be helpful as well.
Thank you,
J

Re: island jumping in Caribbean.

In regards to the previous reply. December would def be a good time to visit the Caribbean in terms of wind as they don't call'em the "Christmas Winds" for nothing. As for "crewing on a yacht"...unless you can find someone whose itinerary gels with yours and one you can find on a web page ahead of t...

Re: Le Gallion soon to be no kiting?

I agree 100%. Galleon is the only reason worth enduring the endless traffic gridlock on that horribly overdeveloped island. As for who's making the decisions on things, my bet is there's a windsurfing school that's got the ear and/or wallet of a public servant or two. Haven't been to Bonaire, but it...

Re: Adriana Harlan killing it - Current issue of The Kiteboa

I have to agree. It doesn't matter what you ride, how you ride, where you ride or when you ride. To be on the water using the wind in place of a noisy, fume spewing and money guzzling boat is a joy in and of itself. That said, at 90 kilos and stuck in a bit of a relative windless black hole, sometim...

Re: NEW BRAND EPIC KITES

I have to agree along the same lines. Nearly 60 pages on another similiarly titled thread.. Have to wonder, unless this kite cures cancer or something, is there really that much more to say?

Re: Le Gallion soon to be no kiting?

They want to pass a law to ban Kitesurfing at Le Gallion. Surfers and Windsurfers will have the beach for themselves. The surf's so far out into the bay most surfers catch a boat out to the waves (or paddle in from the car park out on the point) and I've rarely seen more than three or four windsurf...
