Re: Forces on a twintip

In regards to post #1: Your approach is correct, you can resolve the long axis of the board into a beam bending case. Naturally the short axis of the board is different, but I agree that this is an appropriate first step for sizing, as the long axis should experience the greatest load. However, you ...

Re: Mystic Majestic X Waist harness Quality

I will take photos of mine later, but I do not think it has those bubbles. Granted, to those who do not have the harness in front of them, the bubbles must be tiny. Smaller than grains of sand tiny. The weave of carbon is about half the width of the tip of a 3.5mm headphone connector. As for the scr...

Re: Kite fatality in Thailand

Try to avoid using carabiners if they do not lock. Last thing you want is for your knife carabiner to catch a line. I have been very happy that the newer safety leashes have guards that slide over the carabiners to prevent this from happening.

Re: Eye protection -> tips on cheap and good-ish sunglasses for kiting

Design flaws...the temple end pivots over sharp screw threads and eventually eats it's way through The hole in the temple is too close to the outer edge of temple leaving not enough plastic material for strength Screw hole in the frame front should have been positioned more outward It's best to use...

Re: The ideal wind report for a spot!

I think this is an excellent idea, and I want to encourage you to keep doing it. I need to think on it a bit, but for me the only time I would use this data is when I am planning on visiting a spot I’m not familiar with. Data like number of days with wind over X knots is great, but other information...
