Re: Secondary mast choice: 70cm vs 41cm

What kind of conditions did you ride it in?
Is it possible to ride in a small size ocean swell (1-2 foot ) ?

Re: Secondary mast choice: 70cm vs 41cm

yeah, you are right.. I am 186cm :-). I often ride at the lagoon behind the reef. The water in the lagoon goes from being chest-to-neck high to zero water inside, but behind the reef, there is always deep water. I really want to ride in the outside of the lagoon and explore the coast of the island. ...

Secondary mast choice: 70cm vs 41cm

Hi all, As a secondary mast for learning the tricks and riding in shallow waters. Trying to decide if I should go for 70 cm or 41cm mast. (Note this is a secondary mast, primary mast is regular size ) There seem to be some people who think that buying 41cm mast will be a waste as it is barely useful...

Re: Swim out and drift launch with a foil board techniques

Starsky,Thanks! Can you describe this "properly loaded stuff sack to loose and looped zig zag lines" method? Not sure I am familiar with it. It is a variation of the "bucket" drift launch I guess. How to properly load a sack and how to spool. Also, what kind of sack to use? Can y...

Re: Swim out and drift launch with a foil board techniques

The rubber bands would loop around bridle line, larkshead knot style. Go from one side of kite to the other so shouldn't have too many rubber bands. As you finish fit chicken loop onto pump leash so no lines accidentally slip behind. Maybe there's a YouTube vid about parachute packing. So do rubber...

Re: Nobile Infinity splitboard with other foils?

I am wondering if Nobile will add a two strap option in 2018 you can easily pay somebody to put in two new inserts for a two strap position on this boards. Typically can cost like $25-$30 per insert. In-fact, I plan to add inserts for back-strap if I buy this board as the rear foot-strap is too far...

Re: Swim out and drift launch with a foil board techniques

I have often thought of using a parachute packing idea where the lines are zigzag laid into a series of rubber bands. So when deployed the lines come out in sequence. We used this in ski racing (waterski) with 2 skiers on 175ft ropes. 175ft back from start line skiers drop off and as boat idled up ...

Thank you guys for your thoughts and advise. Very helpful and also inspiring -:) Horst Sergio, your technique with a foil kite deep water launch is mind blowing. I will study your write ups. Re: Swim out and drift launch with a foil board techniques

Could you wear a pfd to make easy floating, then swim out with everything but tow the foil on a long line, then do everything like already described ? I'm just thinking of having to avoid going back to shore. Otherwise I can't imagine any alternative if there is no where onshore to lay your kite ou...
