Re: Strapless board shape?

great points above. don't forget board volume & fin placement. Also huge for board feel. If you kite 100% in the same conditions there will probably be a best board and ask locals. Otherwise, you'll eventually want more boards than you can afford: a down-the line perfect wave board, a light jumpy fr...

Re: Kite equipment, weight (scale results for a trip)

that's cutting it close - don't forget that on the way back you might not have time to fully dry everything and some extra sand can easily sneak in...

Re: Kahului, Maui kite trip

November is a great month for waves + winds. Great right breaks. If I wasn't goofy this would be my favorite place and time.

how about these guys? http://www.kitekahunas.com/wave-kitesurfing-camp.html

or Cabarete? or start a new thread 'where is the best place to learn waves'?' you're looking for no shallow reefs and either rescue service or if it goes bad you safely wash up on shore.

Re: Naish pivot 2017 8 or 9 meter?

I've used multiple brands and pivots and don't find their sizing off in any way. this is not at all a grunty or oversized kite that makes you need smaller. and as the name implies, it pivot turns with almost no power, so it is not a kite you're likely to feel overwhelmed with in turns, jumping, loop...

teaching absolute newbie

Has anyone taught someone to hydrofoil that does not already know how to kitesurf?

When we learn hydrofoil we all say 'everything you used to know is wrong...' so maybe if someone learns this from the very beginning they can skip the usual TT learning phase. Anyone tried?

We can all agree that she is 100% gorgeous, but I think we need a 'no neoprene' rule on this thread!!

Re: Barbados

the downside of barbados for learning is that if you drop your kite (which you will when learning waves, even if you NEVER do it on your TT) and can't relaunch in time, there is no rescue and the swim is very long with the current and the waves being a ways off shore. I know people that have lost th...

Re: The Gran Caymans for the Holidays in December

they are right - if you don't want a car, this is the wrong island. but it is a small & chill island and car is not a big deal. you will be going slow and dodging the occasional chicken and driving on the left. There are plenty of Caribbean islands where you don't need a car, but this isn't one. but...
