Re: Will Kite Foiling ever be relaxing?

OK.... I am a bit exaggerating.... So please do Not Take IT too serious.... But will it ever be relaxing to Kite Foil? For sure with constant 12 knots, and flat water, But what about gusty 18-28knots, 100cm ocean swell and 50cm chop..... - Just looking at your watch for 2 Seconds is a Dangerous Tas...

Re: Wave Right of Way: Specific

Kiting (with directional) Manawa (Mauritius), 2 scenarios popped up yesterday that leave me a bit confused. I have read EVERY Right Of Way post on this forum and others, so figure I would just ask the brain trust as they are quite specific. Some right of way comment said I had the wave, others said...

Re: Panama vs Cuba in November

I agree with the posts above: only go there if you're happy to kite only a couple days a week. if your main goal is kiting more like 6 days a week, then I suggest to start the search over and start with windy spots and then narrow it down from there based on budget, beach front, conditions, kid frie...

Re: help with turns

If you can't turn faster (pivot turn), I suggest to try initiating the turn later: Redirect the kite, and then wait longer than you think is needed before turning the board. then you'll have more tension in the lines and your 'follow the kite' instincts will kick in.

Re: Maui, Hawaii as a Big Air kite location

Maui was the original big air spot. [Roll the clip of Robby Naish on a 2 line kite boosting huge...] I think the reasons are that it's too choppy in summer and boosting in the waves in wave season is more of a kook/tourist thing to do in Maui. I think it's also that locals are innovative, always exp...

Re: Kite foiling is dying sooo fast

a fun thread. two themes I see: 1) everything gets old after a while. I was talking with a local at my favorite wave travel spot and he told me he's done kiting! he just got sick of the same wave that to me is amazing and I spend a ton of money to go there every year. but he did it every day for yea...

Re: Aluula Kites - for those of you who already have some hands-on experience

I have 2 Aluulas 12/9 and also a non-Aluula 7. I love them for foiling and they are the best wave kites I have ever used. I am thinking about getting the 9m and 12m Roam Aluulas for wave riding. What do you think is the max wind range on that 12m for a 190lb/86kg rider? I'd like to have something t...

Re: Kite spots in south america from august-december

Peru, Mancora Seems like reliable wind conditions ranging from 15-25 knots with some days reaching for the 30's. Backup spots with better wave/wind on lighter days. Small town with decent nightlife, cool waters and marine animals ... I ride twintip but will be practicing strapless in Cabarete, jump...

Re: Twintip design, skatey feel

slingshot used to make an SX skate style board that was my favorite TT ever. It is slashy, playful, turny, popping,... with that board, when you need more grip for big air pop or upwind, you don't go with bigger fins, it just needs edging. I used to ride it with a slingshot fuel back in the day so e...

Re: Learning to kitefoil on small pocket board

I am looking to learn to kitefoil in the next few months and I like the idea of buying a pocket board up front as my first board. The theory is that I won’t need to waste money down the track when I become more proficient. The used market is very active. You'll have no problem buying and re-selling...
