Re: ACL come back

Had my ACL and meniscus repaired back in 2010 when I was 43. I was back on a twin tip (foot straps) in 6 mos. Re: which knee braces are the pros using?

I've used Donjoy and Ossur and I find the Ossur to be superior.

Re: headed to Boracay- what kites to bring

88kg rider weight, pretty good at kiting in light wind. Spent a month there last year (Feb-March); brought a 7, 9 and 12m. Days I wished I had a 14 (or larger): 5 (give or take a day). Days I wished I had a smaller size than my 7: 0.

Re: 5 Top Kitespots in the Philippines

Hmmm... Am surprised that Bagasbas near Daet, Camarines Norte isn't even in the top 5. If you're into waves AND flatwater, this place has both.

Re: Bad knee – advice please

Have a specialist (ortho surgeon or rehab doctor) check out your knee as not all doctors can perform a proper diagnosis. If said specialist thinks that there may be something there that merits a closer look, then an MRI will pretty much tell the whole story. I tore my ACL and the ortho diagnosed thi...

Re: Looking for Flatwater spots in Asia

To add more info on Bagasbas Beach in Daet, here goes: It's about 10 hours bus ride from Manila. There are two trips a day. By car, it takes about 7.5 hours. The road is generally ok but there are some sections where you have to drive slowly due to potholes. You can fly from Manila to Naga (1 hour) ...

Bagasbas Beach in Daet, Camarines Norte Province, Philippines. It has a waist-deep flat water lagoon and lots of places to stay just a short walk away.

Re: 2007 Liquid Force Havoc for a beginner?

I had a decent run on my 07 Havoc 14m but it was a bit of a dog in terms of turning speed. The jumps I pulled of on that one, though, I still remember with great pleasure to this day. :thumb: Also, there was a batch of them that left the factory in China with the wrong bridle lengths making their fl...

Re: Philippines Kiteboarding lessons?

My wife learned to kiteboard with Freestyle in Boracay. My son will take his lessons with them when we take our holidays there in Jan. I cannot comment on the other schools because I have no experience with them but we've been very happy with the friendly atmosphere and service at Freestyle. :thumb:
