Re: Any lightwind-specific surfboards left on the market?

BRM paipo was an alaia circa 5’4” with 4-5” of nose and 1” or so tail rocker, about 17” wide. I built a copy, slightly bigger 18” wide, with advice from the maker. Still ride it occasionally. Eventually added a foil mount and footstraps (which i only used a few times). For my weight (then 80-82kg) I...

Blue? :movingbutt: :movingbutt: :movingbutt:

To paraphrase the bard,

Greenwashing by any other name would sound the same.

Let me guess: costs double, last one half?!

Nice move 8)

Re: Ground effect and hydrofoiling

That is cool! Looks like a lot of extra glide in the last shot especially. I think I have felt this often kitefoiling as I go over sandbars gliding a lot and doing so is easier than it seems it would be. Most of my rides end at a beach with 2-4 shallow (30-60cm) sandbars in front of it. Riding over ...

Re: Raptor concept foiling board

Barracuda style downwind SUP-influenced boards are the answer to this question. For wingfoil at least. Seems cumbersome for kiting though. The moth-like thing tried before did not give benefits.

Re: Would you ride here?

Have done. Nice session, spent most time upwind between mangrove islands and in bay to the east. Was a good 9m session, sailed across from Leeward, didn’t want to get stuck if wind dropped. Buzzzing mangroves was fun…

Re: Recs for Kite + Surfing spot in Portugal in July

Peniche to Aveiro is fun, Obidos lagoon for good flat water ok for less accomplished riders, various surf/surf kite spots alond coast, plenty to see, not so big and busy as Lisbon area.

Re: The Triton X-1 Monofoil for Winging

Looks interesting. Glad to see Triton branching out with new product. Please no one be offended, but I have perhaps a slightly naughty question: could you attach a bit of a tail to the tailless wing T-1 or X-1 to give even more low end or ability to pump up onto foil? Could a T-1 (T-2?) have a tail/...

Re: New kite... which colour to choose

White lasts longest in UV light. That’s why boat sails are usually white. Yellow/orange best visibility.
Dark colors hide dirt.

Re: Travelling with hardshell harnesses

Simce I never get oversized bags on free, at least on domestic flights, I use a big surf coffin bag -same price as a large kite gear bag. Board(s) in middle +/- foil parts, wrapped in kites, +/- towels, wetsuits, with helmet over boad nose and hardshell harness wrapped around tail.
