If you do hand layup you can use a top layer of peal ply. It helps to drive out extra resin and allows you to add layers in multiple steps while maintaining good bonding and keeps the part clean till you pull it off. Doesn't surprise me. They defacto banned foiling boards with the fin length restrictions. I wonder if the drop off in competitors has more to do with switching over to foil boards then kites.

Its fun and rides like a tt in that it can be ridden heal down but tacking was a bit hard to master. You can jibe to toe side and then switch though. Its fun and light as a cork.

Don't use something with side adjusting buckles. They point load into the ribs when you fall sideways. Quite painfull.

Need more info for anyone to make suggestions. Is it a close to shore race or crossing. Wave state expected? Wind strength? Time till race and your exp level on what kind of boards?

I got to first base with my Maui Tectonics Talons.

I did bang the tip on one of the front fins at then end of last season. I'm not good enough to notice the difference.
