Re: New to snow kiting

Wow Careful what you receive as advice! Snow kiting allows one to ride a smaller kite than would ever be needed on water. Then you can really learn so much more kite flying skills ( that most kiters actually lack). Much depends on surface and what you are riding, but all is requiring much less kite ...

Puerto Rico Spots

Anybody have local knowledge on north shore PR sites for winging?

I am looking at shacks in Isabela versus NE area east of San Juan. Will be there early March. It’s hard to tell if the reefs at these potential spots would be good for wingfoiling or treacherous.

Please help

Re: Ocean Rodeo Aluula & Hybrid Overview

I have had 2 sessions on 5m and am gushing. So light in hand and stiff. The stiffness is what must make this thing point 5-10 degrees more upwind. First day I was on 15-23 mph, second was 10-27 (holey and gusty). One tack out and then back for fantastic 1 mile downwind swell ride. Felt like no work ...

Re: "It" finally happened. Wings and alula.

They should publish comparison of wet weight as that is reality. Not a dry kite needing to stay airborne.

Ridiculous pricing BTW

Re: Wing+mountainboard

Surface resistance is key factor. I’ve tried mountain board on grass and snow board on snow. Very particular for surface conditions to be smooth compared to using kite for sustained initial pull to get going. Parking lot/asphalt with skate board is soooo much easier. Can have blast in 0-12mph as it ...

Re: Wingfoil boom or handles?

Well I’m new to winging as about most of us are. I have 6m Echo as first wing. Then progressed to Armstrong 3.5,4.5,5.5 and his mini boom attachment shown above. With cold weather gloves on it is nice to have that bar to grab mid transition and then fine adjust. Flying one handed is much easier than...

Re: position strapless board with just legs - no hands.

I have same board and foil. I can water start hands free almost every time. Get the board on its side if not already there. Position feet on board (I’m strapless) and as kite moves you will have downward pressure increase through feet to keep them where placed. It really helps to have kite pulling e...

Re: question for ex-Wainman kite riders

I loved my rabbits and they’re flying. Did not like dark colors cause of heat issues. I moved to red religions next and loved those but lacked overhead lift to assist in moves. Then moved on to Neos and have been consistently impressed with they’re reliable precision. Seems to be the best of my expe...

Re: Need winging advise

I agree with bragnouff. I’m 200 on 99L Armstrong with same wing as you. I’m like 2-3 sessions ahead of you. Have foiled both directions when on flat to small chop and 15-20 knots, one session. Then same set up in 25+ knots and huge swell of 6 feet—VERY difficult. First of these I used “tripod” techn...
