Re: Fuselage mase with carbón tube

Wow, never seen the LF foil before, compared to other foils on the market looks like a Liquid Farce :)

Re: Fuselage mase with carbón tube

I built a complete fuselage using this technic in 2008 using 25mm carbon tube and it worked well. It was light and stiff. Modern foils though now have much thinner fuselages, not sure a 15 or 20mm hollow carbon tube will be stiff enough. Let us know!

Re: Flysurfer Soul

I didn't really like it, but can't fault it since below is very personal feeling. Here is why: - quite high bar pressure - quite slow, well not quite, sloooow. 12m, 15-17kn - doesn't pivot (like I would expect from a Sonic and R1 background)* - feels like a truck pulling me - upwind on TT is averag...

Re: Airush Innovation - Load Frame Technology

:thumb: A friend has a 2 year old Union that has stretched between the frame, looks like a golf ball with all the dimples ... Question is what's worse: stretching between the frame and a kite that holds is original shape or an evenly stretched smooth canopy that completely changes the shape and pro...

Seems to distort the canopy from what I have seen. Would not be good for aerodynamics but that is not something tube designers really care about so not surprised.

Re: Kite for 18+ knots

4m + 5m can work really well. Think +25%. The smaller the kites the closer they can be in size to make sense. Enduro 4m is an amazing high end kite. Cheers Frank :thumb: I have 3/4/5/6 and 8m kites. 3 to 5m is a huge gap. Even 3 to 4m is a little too big in my opinion, 3.5 to 4m would be better. 4 ...

Re: 2018 quiver advice?

I've mentioned many advantages. One is that it's out of the way, it is also not susceptible to uv degradation like an external system is and the is no discernable difference in pumping up or deflating an external vs internal if you set it up right. If you don't (forgetting to close the thingies on ...

:thumb: :thumb: If you are isolated and have problems with the octopus inflation (it happens) it will be a nightmare. Quad tex is just one more marketing gimmick. Would be wiser to go for an rpm/enduro/bandit/drifter style kite... Nonsense. The really few times I have had any issues with the Octopu...

I"m leaning towards the PIVOT at this time :) ... Have you owned a Naish kite ? Familiar and OK with their octopus inflation system ? :thumb: :thumb: If you are isolated and have problems with the octopus inflation (it happens) it will be a nightmare . Re: Drifter 4 or 5 as smallest kite?

Try to calculate the percentage difference in size. That have worked for me when deciding what sizes. For example 12 9 7,5 6m2 is better than 12 9 7 5 (although often used). I would prefer 8 6 5 over 8 6 4.the gap between 4 and 6 is too much. Personally I have 12 9 7 5.5 and 4.5 m2. I recently boug...
