Schools/kite hire near Myrtle Beach, SC

I'm going to be in SC for a couple of weeks at the end of July. It's a family holiday, so I doubt I'll get to spend that much time on the beach... it's probably not worth lugging my (currently rather under-used) gear all the way from the Middle East for 2 or 3 days on the beach. So, I'm looking for ...

Ocean Rodeo One-Pump Valves

One of the one-pump valves on the LE bladder of my 2011 OR Rise is leaking - it looks like the adhesive's failed in the heat. My understanding is that trying to re-glue isn't a good idea, so I need a replacement valve (or do I :?: ). OR's valves have a 90 degree bend in them - does anyone know if I ...

Re: What kites to bring to Barbados over Chrism./NewY.

Living there, I found I used a 12 90% of the time (90kg, with a twintip). The rest of the time I was mostly on a 17, with very rare sessions on a 10. If you're taking a surfboard, your 8 and 12 will probably do, unless you're a bit of a fatty. Faber - it's quite expensive, but very safe and v...

Re: Ram Airs crash at the Olympics

thered be a whole lote of top lei flyers that simply couldn't fly the big foil.! it would be a laugh. I doubt it. That would suggest that foils are difficult to fly, and they're not. foils have different techniques to get the best out them. fly them like a lei you wont get the best out of them. it ...

Re: Best gopro mount for kiting

What are the best mounts for kiting? Im thinking the head strap for first person and the surf board mount.. What do you think/use? Chest strap or helmet bracket for first person. The headstrap probably won't hold in a wipeout, and I don't think the floaty will work with it (unless you have the came...

Re: Seaking helicopter incident leaves kite surfer injured

It is possible to sneak up on someone with a large-ish heli, but it's not the sort of thing that happens by accident. Usually requires careful use of speed, topography and low altitude, and works better if the object of your sneaking up is doing something noisy (like driving something big with track...
