Re: How can I repair this? Do I need to?

Ok new question. Suppose I didn't notice this and the leading edge explodes when I'm out in the ocean - wtf do I do? There'd be no air in the kite so I couldn't self rescue and use it as a sail. Do I just ditch it and swim back? Firstly you must get that stitched, you can do it yourself with a need...

Re: Kiteboarding manufacturing shortcut leads to multiple equipment failures, accident and an injury

I agree that tapering a splice is sensible and adds not only to the quality of a kite line, but also to its aesthetic. It doesn't take any more time to taper than to not taper, so why not do it? Simple. But I'd like to see more evidence that not tapering is a safety hazard. I've had kite lines brea...

Re: slingshot oh shit handles

Had to take a guy to hospital once who had partially removed most of the skin from his middle finger - from using a Slingy oshit handle in surf. You really need to be careful with them and I reckon thats why most brands have not adopted the idea. Nothing wrong with pulling on a rear line but those h...

Re: Pinch flat on leading edge bladder?

Pumping the kite before unrolling is fully can cause blow outs in the Leading Edge because over time it twists the LE bladder.

Re: Ozone Catalyst V3

The Alpha V2 has been available for dealers to order for a few weeks now. The public release is still at least 4-6 weeks from now. Its a completely new design, still single strut, but its different to anything I've seen on the market, more info soon.

Re: Opinions wanted, is it better to self land in strong winds by punching out from 12 or 3/9??

Do it like I demonstrate in this video. I land like this at least half the times I kite as we often do downwinders and we all arrive at different times at the finish spot if no-one is around then I know I can get the kite down safely 100% every time. Had to do it the other day in a squall when I was...

Re: Custom Sail material

Tejin manufacture and sell the material. Duotone are a customer Yes! Teijin makes the Trinity 3x fabric, but it's exclusive to Duotone (for now) and I've only seen bulk fabric available from them at this point. Teijin makes a huge variety of sail cloths and other fabrics including bonded dacrons us...

Re: Aluula? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

I'm considering getting an Aluula Roam 8m, and am wondering what brand/model of bar to get for it. Is the Ocean Rodeo bar for this kite any good, or does anyone have any other better quality recommendations? Ocean Rodeo's Shift bar is one of the best offerings on the market for me - if you enjoy a ...

Re: LE stitching stretches / is widening. Need to worry?

So I went to my local shop but new stitching would be more then they indicated, 65 euro. And they found another worn spot on my LE Dacron and advised to stitch a reinforcement on that also for another 65 euro. I decide that 130 euro is to much for an old kite that probably needs another repair next...
