Re: HQ kites are a bad joke

Humm, Obviously, I have hurt some kite groupies out there. My posting to any forum have been very limited and I have no intention to start up a controversy with anyone. If you believe all kite are of equal performance, or quality, great. I’m not sponsored by HQ, meaning I purchased the questionable ...

HQ kites are a bad joke

This is my third and last HQ purchase. By the way, my kites have always been purchase new. Foiled kite were always made to be ridden on snow in my case, I have a quiver for kitesurfing as well. Anyways, to make a story short, Montana 5, will drop you like a rock, very fast but no power !!! Montana 1...

Can I use my Flexifoil Sabre1 bar with the new sabre2 kite ?

To my taste, the Flexifoil Sabre 1 is almost the perfect foil kite. The major downside with the first generation is those crossed back bridle lines that can drive me up the wall when setting up the kite!!! I see the new Sabre2 is now set-up with a 5th line. Honestly, I can image why any foil kite wo...

Re: 12m Ranger Review!

Thanks for the feedback, To be honest, I was a real HQ fan before I got to experience the M2 generation. I still love my M1 5.0m, but after trying out the M2 7m and M2 12.5m not so sure anymore about montana's. Major upset for my snowkiting style, (overflies in high wind, de-power strap slips, de-po...

Re: 12m Ranger Review!

Hi guys, It's nice to see I'm not the only rider intrigued by this new and first slingshot depower foil kite. Honestly, I would love to be convinced that this kite really performs freestyle and big air, not just freeriding. Is this kite more like Ozone Access (intermidiate freeride kite with very li...

Re: hq montana

Thanks digg, I haven't given up on this kite. The weather again was perfect to get this thing going (10 to 15 knots) and decided I should try some ''fine tuning'' on my M2 12.5m, if I wanted to enjoy my ride. Realizing, I did not enjoy that needed ''bar pressure'' to get powered in light wind, I dec...

Re: Slingshot Ranger 12m 2007

Presently, my snowkites are the following: Montana2 12.5m, Flexifoil Sabre1 9.5m and Montana1 5m. I mostly kite in fields or frozen lakes. I've also set-up a little playground with a 5' kicker and some rails. In the past, I've tried the Montana2 7M, Ozone Frenzy 7m, North Husky 8M, Ozone access, Ozo...

Slingshot Ranger 12m 2007

How nice is this kite ?? I understand it's very forgiving by some reviews I read earlier. But does this kite deliver good lift and freestyle performance. What other foiled kite would you compare its peformance with. I'm seeking for a new machine that will get me going in light wind, but that can als...

Re: hq montana

Up date on my previous post and the 12.5 m Montana2. Just came in from ideal condition for snowkiting with my Montana2 12.5m. Just for the record, I weight 175 pds and have been kiting on snow for about 6 years. Also kitesurf in the summer. Anyways. About 8 inches of fresh dry snow had fallen overni...

Re: hq montana

Thank you for getting back to me and for your info, My front lines were set up at the middle knots (standard position) and had depowered the kite to about 3/4 of the way. Actually, the leading edge was flipping over like I was overflying the kite, out of the wind window. The kite might of been overp...
