Re: SS Rally vs. SS Turbine... (12M vs. 13M)

Captain - What are your local conditions? I have a 17m Turbine, 14m&12M Rally's. I am the same weight as you and can't go on the Turbine till it hits 12mph. And that's with a big TT. We have surf and rips. The 12m doesn't come out till the wind is hitting 18mph A little bit of everything. Depends w...

Re: Tips for Ragnarok?

Matt, thanks for posting the recap. That sounds like an absolute blast.

Is 8 people out of 350 an abnormally low finish % due to wind conditions, or does it always take a herculian effort just to finish the 5 laps?
In any case, the trip looks epic. :thumb:

Re: US National Park Service seeking public comments on whether or not to allow kitesurfing

This is great news.

The more common result is that kiters do not band together and push back, or they pull together a weak response and are shoved to the side. Nice work. This is indeed a precedence that will help threatened access in other areas as well. :thumb:

Re: SS Rally vs. SS Turbine... (12M vs. 13M)

...Because my next kite down is a 9m Rally I'm still interested in the top ends of Rally 12m vs Turbine 13m, and of course I'm also still interested in comparing the low end of the Rally 12m vs Turbine 13m. And as said above, not from dealers/sponsored riders etc. please. I can't comment on the Tur...

Re: SS Rally vs. SS Turbine... (12M vs. 13M)

This thread has been quiet awhile...

Has anyone else flown the new Turbine who is not a dealer and can comment? Particularly the 13M. :naughty:
I'm curious how that flies in light air as I'd like to swap out my 12M Rally for that 13M if it's the right call.

Thanks! :thumb:

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Got out to Colorado last week for some boarding, and between a couple days at Telluride and a few days at Silverton, I had set some time aside to snowkite. I had one day of good wind, one day of marginal and one day of none... ...I have to again give a huge thanks to matthepp for the sincere hospita...

Re: Cuba for novices

I guess in this forum there must be many people who could give you better info than me, but since I've just coma back from a 8 days trip, I'll give you my 2 cents. Cuba is just fantastic, not only for kiting but for enjoying the whole experience. If you've never been in Cuba, I wouldn't go there in...

Re: Obama is now a kitesurfer and Richard Branson is foiling..

I got give Obama credit, he was up and riding. Lets not forget he is from Hawaii. Well it depends who you ask. Alex Jones says he's from Kenya. I think it's very cool that he's out there relaxing with Branson and he tried a new sport. I didn't see that Kerry's interest in the sport had any im...

Re: Knee injury upon landing jump; thoughts on what it is?

Figured I'd close the loop on this, which I always try to do in case someone stumbles across this post down the road... MRI report said "Lateral meniscus: There is a longitudinal tear through the posterior horn of the lateral meniscus. There is no significant extrusion. No displaced fragment identi...
