What does this IronHeart3 middle pin do?

I'm trying to modify my North bar to a single front line release and increase the size of the lower portion of the centre hole slightly from 5 to 6mm. The upper portion of the hole is already 6mm. However as I am trying to run a drill through it is crossing the pathway of the centre pin shown in the...

Re: Size of hole in Airush Brain chicken loop please

Many thanks for that. The safety line going through the chicken loop must be quite quite a small diameter for the join to pass down the hole. I've tried various combinations and the join is just too big to fit through my North chicken loop. Maybe I'll have to do some more experimenting as the hole d...

Re: Kitesurfing disciplines and kite types-pardon my ignorance!

Thanks guys, starting to get my head round it a bit more now. Thanks Windrider I can certainly understand that! Also looking at the comments of the new Slingshot range adds information. Still cannot quite understand why this Cabrinha Nomad kite gets such a bad rating for racing; and that is by Cabri...

Kitesurfing disciplines and kite types-pardon my ignorance!

Can anyone point me to any references to what the different styles of kitesurfing mean (freestyle, wake, wave, freeride, race) and what particular qualities of kite would make it more suitable for one purpose rather than another; aspect ratios, turning speed etc I have been kitesurfing for a while n...

Re: North Evo

I was hoping that somebody might of had experience launching off the beach using the 5th line; ie- floating it in a 'u' shape tethered to weighted board then recover bar and launch? I know this used to be done with old Wipika kites and wondered if it could be done with an Evo as I have never been a ...

Re: North Evo

Reading this post as I have a 9m 2008 Evo and been so impressed that I am looking to upgrade to the 2009 models when possible.

Has anybody done a self launch with an Evo either using the 5th line or otherwise?

Re: Size or Bar needed for North Evo 09

Thanks. Do I take it that you have got an Evo 09? If so would I get by on a 2 kite quiver 10m and 7m for me, I'm 75kg? What's the realistic low end of the 10m.
All this is assuming you have one of course!....

Re: Size or Bar needed for North Evo 09

Fair enough. But I am thinking about buying an Evo without paying for a North bar and wondered at what size you go from the narrow setting to the wider setting? Ideally I would like to think that a one size bar would be OK for most sizes. I think this is the case with some other brands ie F-one Band...
