Re: New bigger board or new kite with better lowend?

Looks like you have a 15m SS Machine and possibly a door for light wind? However, the 12m back stalls when you ride it. It could be the bar is not tuned to the orbit (steering lines too short). What wind range are you riding it in?

Re: Why did they stop making surfboards for fat guys?

I'm 98 kilos and this board works great for on-shore slop/light wind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KojX6W7mLxs The key is to move your back foot to lip in the tail pad before you make any hard turns. Super fun and floaty board. I have/owned the 5'2" and 5'4" * and will try to always have one in m...

Re: Upwind on a Directional Board

All good advice.... Try to keep the board flat so you can engage the fins with less edging. To do this, use more front foot pressure, drive back knee towards the bend in your front leg using your hips, and release forward hand . My back foot is on the front of my tail pad when going upwind. My only ...

Re: San Diego Kite Spots

Mission Bay(a.k.a. "Stinkies") is mainly foilers and beginners. Silver Strand, Mission Beach, and Pacific Beach are where most go for waves and more consistent wind. These spots are recommended for intermediate to advanced riders. Summer weekends can get packed at the beaches however. If you don't m...

Re: Diversity in the Kiteboarding community

If you want a genuine answer, start by getting everyone into swimming at a young age. Without a swimming culture you aren't going to persuade people to partake in watersports as you need to feel comfortable in the water. Agree. In So. Cal., it's very diverse. Yet, surfing is dominated by white male...

Re: 2018 11m Naish Pivot design/manufacturing flaw?

Just learned my friend’s kites were 2017. I was also under the impression that it was a manufacturing defect with a batch of kites and not a design defect. I was really surprised when my friend said they were going to replace his kite after 2 years(purchased in 2018). Don't think I've ever seen that...

Re: 2018 11m Naish Pivot design/manufacturing flaw?

Hi TommyDuotone - What do you mean by "Naish helped them out" ? Did they replace the kites or repair ? They repaired the kite of the newer Pivot( took a while though). The older kite is being replaced by a new one(just happened 2 weeks ago). I would like to add however, that both kites exploded whi...

Re: 2018 11m Naish Pivot design/manufacturing flaw?

There are two riders at my local beach that use the Pivots. Both had the same issue. They both have the Gray color scheme w/blue in 14m size(not sure the year). One of the guys had it happen while the kite was still fairly new, while the other guy had it happen after 2 years of use. In both instance...
