Re: Airush 2016 Vantage

I'd like to know a bit more about the boosting ability of the Vantage. For example, I am thinking of the Vantage 2016 13m (to use with a twintip). How good would it be for boosting, big-air, old school, lofty jumps, hovering tricks (e.g. Jesus Walk)? I am also curious if it is good in lighter winds,...

Re: inspired by Toby

What I find impressive here is that the guy puts his board back to his feet in the middle of the front loop rotation while steering his kite one-handed into a kite loop all at the same time...
Very nice...

Re: Best international city for kiteboarding lifestyle

You can't kite all year long in San Francisco... Wind season is from Mid-March to Mid-October, usually stronger in May-June, usually more consistent in July-August. In winter, wind is rather dead. But you can go skiing to Tahoe. And even during the wind season, it's not windy every day at a given sp...

Re: Nitro 4 vs Cabrinha Switchblade

Hi, First of all, the Nitro 4 is a very different kite than the Switchblade, they are not in the same category. Personally I don't like the Switchblade because I think it's so slow. A lot of people feel the same. But still, a lot of people like the switchblade and buy it. Personally, I would not con...

Re: New 2015 naish pivot?

I suspect the design of the new Pivot does not favor unhooking but, for those who tried, is unhooking any good with the Pivot?
I guess it will depend on where the kite sits at the edge of the wind window...
Would it be comparable to unhooking with, say, the North Evo or the Airush Lithium, or better?

Re: Airush Varial X 2014

I recently tried the new 2014 Varial X 10m in various conditions so I thought I could add some comments about this kite. I am 68kg and kiting since 2008. I had 4 different sessions with the kite. For me the low-end was about 11 knots, which I think is pretty good for that type of kite (using my 132c...

Re: Opinions on North Dice?

I had a good try of the Dice 10m in various conditions so I thought I could post my feeling about this kite. I am 68kg and kiting since 2008. I had 5 different sessions with the kite. Overall I think it's a pretty good kite, very well balanced out of the box and very easy to handle and sound. I thou...

Re: Kite shape convergence in 2010/2011

Yes you are right, the Vegas 2008 (and 2010) has a similar shape but I am not sure it has any delta component (or a very limited one). And like you said, it is more C-shaped (less flat) than the ones I listed. Hybrid delta style is a good name for that type of shape. The new Naish Charger 2011: http...

Kite shape convergence in 2010/2011

I noticed that there seem to be some sort shape converge in recent (or just to come) freestyle/unhooked, wave kites. I would roughly describe this type of shape as bridled or SLE kites, with a delta-shape component, a bit of C-shape and cut wing tips. See these pictures: Epic Screamer 2010: http://l...
