Been an avid Airush user for a few years. Got my first 9m Wave back in late 2012, used that until 2017, when I replaced it with another 9m. Between me and the other half, we have Wave, Ultra, Union v2, Diamond, Varial X and have not had issues with the valves, we had some issues years ago with the p...
Yeah, I can see it would a couple of dry setups to make sure it was looking right. The heat/oven requirement isn't a viable option for me with my lack of space, at the moment ;) A possibility in the future tho' I think for this board, I will just do a normal layup. And I'll put the infusion process ...
If you want to do only a side at a time then mask the edges of the area you don't want to infuse with some low tack masking tape to about 80mm wide. Run the composites past the edge and finish the peel ply before the unmasked part. When cured slice with a dremel to make tidy edges of your composite...
Thanks BWD & Fuidity. I am using 15mm thick T90 airex for the core. Hence, the different laminates. I hear what you're saying regarding the weight. Hence, why I'm looking at infusion to save a little weight :) I've got all the kit/hardware I need for the infusion process, I just haven't found a vide...
First time board builder. Yes, I am aware it would be much easier to not do infusion on my first board :nono: I've vacuumed a couple layers of 210gr 3k CF on the hull and the deck. Now looking to do a couple of 12k layers top and bottom. Top is to be finished off with cork. I was thinking 2 x 12k la...
Yeah, my local spot is a silty estuary and thorn back rays feed on the worms. Hitting them nearly always ends up in an ejection from the board, thankfully I ride strapless, so no twisted knees or ankles.
I have an Xcel DryLock 5/4 (non-hood) and it's really, really warm. What with a good thermal rashie, wind proof top. I am super toasty here in the UK winter.
I do have an old 6mm O'Neil hooded for the snowy/icy days. It's too warm for anything else.
