Re: The new Ocean Rodeo Mako featuring Bliss air Pads and Straps

Somebody please tell me those straps/pads are cushy. I STILL haven't found anything remotely close to the original OR Bliss straps and pads. Mine are pretty trashed and you can't find them anymore. I've wasted about a thousand dollars searching for equivalent pads but nothing even comes close to the...

Re: North Rebel 2018

Think this will kill resale for 5-line Rebels? I'm looking at a 2017 on closeout right now.

Re: North Rebel dog years?

Any truth to the rumors Rebel is going 4 line and Evo 3 strut????? or do you plead the 5th????? Rebel is going to be 4 line, yes. An employee from North Austria confirmed it according to this post: http://forum.oase.com/showpost.php?p=1305102&postcount=23 (sorry, german only) My guess would be load...

Re: Waterstart - directions kite and board relative to the wind

It's very much a matter of feel, I agree with pmoreira in that worrying about fixed points of reference are going to be a distraction, however I can tell you have a highly analytical mind and it would help to solidify your visualizations before you even get in the water with some advice from experie...

Re: How does your bar handle center line Twists?

Todd, I tried the Click Bar a few months ago and really liked it, although as others have said, sheeting while cranking hard is tough. It's not as big an issue as some have made it out to be. Older North bars swivel works very well. I never rinse my bars and have some that are 3 years old and the sw...

Re: High-Speed-Carving - looking for the perfect turn

Looks like fun. You are definitely not cranking the kite hard enough. You want a 180 degree pivot turn and initiate it before you start the carve. You also seem to overrun the kite after the first turn. Need to either carve a sharper turn or keep turning until you get tension back in the lines, then...

Anatomy of a GW shark attack

Not to alarm anyone in Central CA, but this happened on Saturday. Attack, investigation, whatever. Unnerving is what it is. Friend of mine in Monterey CA posted this on a scuba board. He's a very experienced diver and kayaker. Pucker factor 10 ________________________________________ It was a bit pa...

Re: What is your most used oldest kite?

I've got a 2012 Rebel 11m that just won't die. It's been dragged all over every surface you can imagine, probably over 400 sessions, self launched and landed 80% of the time, friction abrasions all over it, and the thing still flys perfectly. Bomber build.

Re: North Rebel Evo or Naish Pivot

I fly Rebels and Pivots and Neos. You asked for negatives for the Rebel. Biggest one for me it is always hunting for the edge of the wind window. Great for flying upwind, but not so great for riding waves down the line or downwinders. Some people will say the 5th line is a negative, but I don't. It ...

Re: Puerto Rico Kite and Surf Trip Feb 2017 Video

Nice job on the footage, great variety. Soundtrack is awful. Sorry you didn't get much wind. I've been 3x this winter so far and have scored big wind and waves literally every day I've been there. Looks like you guys had an awesome trip!
