Re: Gear that has exceeded your expectations!

I will say - the one piece of gear that I have fun on every single time out would be the Ocean Rodeo Mako Duke. It's probably not the best board for really critical waves/conditions, but for just sheer fun every session, and most typical conditions, it's a great board. Basically the longboard of my ...

Re: Ocean Rodeo Roam feedback wanted

How is the turning speed of the 12m ROAM ?.. I am thinking of getting a 12m for light wind wave riding and skimming.....I have a 12m flite and Prodigy and love them both, but they still feel like 12s....is the Roam noticeably faster turning?? Roam 12 turns like a 12. I borrowed a friend's Prodigy 1...

Re: Ocean Rodeo Roam feedback wanted

Any feedback from those of you riding Roams would be appreciated. Im thinking about replacing my Solos (9 & 6.5) with Roams in order to gain some flutter free top end, keeping good drift.. I adore my 12m Flite and am leaning towards Ocean Rodeo for my surf oriented kites as well because of that, bu...

Re: Ocean Rodeo: The Next Gen Bars Are Here

I'll say this, I was a bit skeptical at the added value of these next gen/rear-line depower bar/lines. I'll preface this by saying I rarely ever use the QR on any bar, just no real need. I'm thinking I've pulled the QR maybe 3 times total in the past 6 or 7 years. In any case, I've been using the OR...

Moorea

I know there's a few threads here and there, but does anyone have any kite experience or information regarding Moorea in Tahiti? Thinking about heading there for my 10 year anniversary next year, mostly to SUP surf, but I'll take the kite gear along as well, probably in the October/November range.

Re: How to pack a travel bag

I wouldn't worry about a twintip, it's like a snowboard it's not going to get banged up. Here's a few tips though: 1. Take the fins out (yeah no sh!t) 2. Put your harness open under the board on the bottom, it fits well, and keeps your harness from getting bent over. 3. Pack your kites at the bottom...

Grand Cayman - Barker's - Surf/Reef

I visited Grand Cayman and kited Barker's back in 2013, I loved it, one of my favorite spots I've visited. At that point, I was strictly a flat water/boosting on small bumps kind of kiter. Now, I'm more into waves and ride a surfboard 90% of the time. I'm just wondering if I visited in February, wha...

Re: Aruba January

Does your wife kite...if so, stay at Kite-Inn.com because other than kiting...there's really nothing to do on this side of the island. Kite-Inn... $80/night (cold a/c , hot shower, comfortable bed, and very clean). You can kite your tails off...it's 5mins from Boca Grandi. Arnold who owns Kite-Inn ...

Re: Aruba January

Boca Grandi has very good swells outside the reef. Pechi has opened a Beach Bar and Grill there. Twin tippin in the Boca is great too. Get over 9 kiters and it's a tad crowded but time your sessions between the noobs and you'll have a ball. 96% chance of great wind. Can't beat it for a kite-trip. C...

Re: Aruba January

Hey, I went to Aruba and kited huts 8 years ago (before the R/C was built). Anyways, I'm a pretty experienced kiter, but i want decent waves. How's Boca Grandi on the outside wave wise, I'm guessing they get some pretty good wind-swell based on the trades and exposure. Any comments, I'd take both my...
