Re: how long is too long?!

Just curious, are you using FS Peak3 on the water, if so what size and how is it please? Same question...and specifically please let us know how you feel about upwind performance of a peak 3...and if possible could you please give an example of other kites with similar upwind performance rather tha...

Re: how long is too long?!

I've tried up to 33m in ligh winds with thicker lines on 11m tube. I prefer 30m with race lines and 65cm bar in similar conditions. I didn't feel a huge difference in 30 to 33m in speed or power. In really light winds the margin is very small and it depends on how "light" you're referring to. What I...

Re: Atlanta kiting

Check https://windsportatlanta.com/ Their club windsurfs on Lake Lanier and they have a Kiting section on their forums. They used to be "windsurfatlanta.org" but I guess they let the kiters in now too. :D

Re: The Monjet Ninox

Thicker LE stiffeners = heavier, carbon fiber = break, kit twits dimension= better. I was wondering if adding some weight would speed the Peak3 12m? Don't think it would fly in as light of wind then. Was also thinking of trying to make an inflatable tube where the LE stiffners are without any dacro...

Re: The Monjet Ninox

Hi @BOEMIX Do you own a Peak? Which size? Do you tried it once for foiling? Can you compare it with one of your other kites in meaning of power. I would accept, that it is not relaunchable. Where is the problem? In very low wind I very seldom throw the kite in the water. And if it happens, you wind...

Re: Hot launch techinque with inflatable

In super light winds where my kite wont stay on its side (self launch) I reverse launch them, hot. I position them almost directly down wind where all I have to do is drag/rotate one side enough for it to be dead down wind in the power zone and pull both steering lines. Sometimes pulling while runni...

Re: Oyster foot protection

Probably have ten different pairs of 1-3mm short booties. Can't ride without them, just feels too weird now. Most comfortable: Atan Sunfast http://atan.fr/en/surfing-booties-6 But they only save your foot once if you step on something sharp. They're VERY delicate but SOOOOO comfortable. Second best ...

Re: Sealing alu strut - still a no-no?

One of my aluminum struts came sealed with some hard epoxy in it. The sealant cracked and is now letting water into the mast. I can still get most of it out by waving the mast up and down rapidly. One of these days I plan to drill it out and sealt it back up with some silicone or something that's fl...

Re: Conditioning when practicing both kitesurfing and windsurfing

One does not help the other, much. They're completely different and the only thing that's the same is the wind. Perhaps the one thing you'll get better at is feeling the wind but the skill set of one does not improve due to the other. Windsurfing is MUCH harder and takes a lot more toll on your body...
