Re: High wind kite?

As my highwind kites for TT and SB I use the Naish Slash in 5 and 7. Although a dedicated wave kite it also jumps really good and is a lot of fun with the Twintip. In the larger sizes I use the Pivot. But small sizes of the Pivot (I had the 6 in the past) are also a good option. If you are in Europe...

Re: Firewire evo vs Naish skater

Cannot compare to Firewires but the Skater does tick all the boxes you are asking for. I had the 2017 and 2018 now (but not ridden that one yet). The 2017 was light, the 2018 even more so. I think they are durable but jumping strapped on the 2017 created heel dents under the front foot (due to a cou...

Re: Best jumping tutorial I have ever seen

Still struggling with choppy conditions unfortunately, and we have those a lot over here.

Yep, same here on the North Sea. So much easier when the conditions are ideal.

Re: 2018 Naish Slash

:thumb: it´s really a versatile kite, far beyond the pure wave aspect. I also ride the 7 with my TT and love it for that. I am teaching my 14 year old son on it as well, works really good.

Re: Where is good spot to learn wave kitesurfing?

You can also train a proper frontside carve on your twin tip on flat water. For training on land get a surfskate skateboard. From my opinion it helps a lot for systemically training compression and body rotation for the carves. It can be a nice work out for your legs and is good fun in itself. There...

Re: Where is good spot to learn wave kitesurfing?

For video tutorials I think the Progression series is pretty good (carving turns and wave technique). It´s not for free but does not cost the world.

Re: Naish Monarch 2017 size

I would suggest the 132. I have your weight and rode the 2016 and 2017 Monarch in that size. Rode it with 11m downwards, 16 knots no problems. (This season I ride the Motion also in 41cm width). Have a look at the Monarch 2018 review by REAL on YouTube. He says it rides bigger than its nominal size ...

Re: Azores, Guincho In Early July

Wind in Summer in Portugal is called Nortada. It blows from the Northwest and is the starting point of the trade wind system which also blows on the Canary Islands. Generally it is a light breeze all along the coast but gets accelerated by mountains and thermal effects especially in Guincho and I th...

Re: Azores, Guincho In Early July

Early July is top season for Guincho, but there is no 100% guarantee if there is wind for a couple of days. Conditions can range from mellow to nuking, choppy to 2-4m waves. If it is too rough you can go to Costa Caparica. If there is no wind go surfing. Bring a 3/2 or 4/3 full suit, water is cold.
