Jalou Langeree - Reconnect

If you haven't seen it already, I would recommend Jalou's new film/documentary on Youtube, 'Reconnect'. Fascinating insight into her kitesurfing life and struggles with mental health. I thought she was very brave to open up as she did on this film. Definitely worth the time to watch.

Re: Keep unhooking - strange problem

Thanks for the replies, the compstick DD is quite flexible so think at times the loop is pushing the DD out, think I will get some PU tube to stiffen it up a bit

Keep unhooking - strange problem

Noticed a problem that seems to have started recently for some reason. Have a compstick sentinel bar and I always ride hooked in with the DD locked into place in the harness hook, however I have somehow managed to unhook maybe 3 or 4 times over the last couple of months and no idea why, chicken loop...

Re: How Strong are Kite-Wave-Boards?

Same here love riding small strapped surfboards, feels great! The TT hasn't seen the water for a long time; however I have busted two Slingy Screamer 5'2's in the past 4 years after a couple of bad forward roll kiteloop landings, but I have another in stock so all good :)

Re: Forum Etiquette, Helmets and Respect.

There has been a reaction to what happened at Camber, not surprisingly, by kiters that frequent this spot; obviously looking to protect those that come to kite there and prevent another terrible tragedy from occurring again. Today was a case in point, I tether launched from a breakwater that was not...

Re: Storm Hannah

Winds were good at Camber today, further up the coast so not quite as mental as the south west. Still the winds were gusty and strong, 7m order of the day. Mountainous seas, however due to the gusty nature of the winds, one minute you were frantically weaving the kite so you didn't get munched and t...

A roll of duct tape, an interestingly shaped light bulb and a small alligator called Sidney; can't remember the other two...

Weird, beeb currently showing 17mph for Camber on Sunday. Different story with windguru though! Looks like it will be the 12m again... :)

Re: Need Slingshot CSS Bungee, what year is my control bar

That bar is for Slingy Turbo Diesel circa 2007. No bungee. Leash attaches to the ring (A) in your diag. I've got the same bar for my Slingshot link 15m (minus the bar pullies), was out on it yesterday. The leash goes over your bar and up to the ring, a bit messy but its ok. The only issue with the b...

Re: 20 Years of Kiting!

1998 ah? I remember travelling out from White Salmon after a windsurfing session at Hood River in 1997. I looked down at the river and said to my buddy, "Hey look at that! There's some dude down there on a board being towed along by a kite!". It was such an odd sight we stopped the car to take a loo...
