Re: Ozone kites 12m low end experience

Yes, you got it :) Maybe if you're an "average kiter" of 75kg then you'll not notice it, but add some weight and try again, like my tandeming buddy. The issue with low end is moot if you get perfectly consistent and constant wind speeds. We don't. Bigger kites suck, and switching gear around constan...

Re: Ozone kites 12m low end experience

In my experience , stay away from ozone if you're a big guy and really want low end from other models than the Zephyr..... I'm flying ozone since the first Instincts back in 2006.....lately owned Reos and Enduros.....i have always found they are amazing in médium to strong winds ...but don't know i...

Re: Anyone else dodging "flying fish"?

Good sized something-or-other jumped out and I got nailed in the thigh with it... Bit of a dead leg, like getting a gentle whack by a baseball bat.

I'd rather fish fly at me than mangy filthy seagulls flying into my lines and kite :o

Re: Naish XL surf wing

I didn't like it kiting either, but it was on a 50cm mast so maybe it was that.

Funny, I found it too twitchy and reactive to what the water was doing, was constantly keeping it under control...

Re: Ozone Strut Valves breaking after 1 year in tropical climate

For 5 years, I stored my gear in my car, all year round. None of those kites have this problem -- or any others.

Re: Are you thinking about becoming a foiler?

All good points. I would say we are 50 50 here carbon to Aluminum, last holiday monday there was almost as many foilers as tt on the water so it has really picked up. I found the hoverglide to be actually quite smooth when riding, but I have tried a Nobile twice now and it felt broken it was so rou...

Re: Are you thinking about becoming a foiler?

No, they are the most expensive part of a carbon foil. Only if aluminum foils, they are cheap, so depends what new foilers get, which can be both, quite evenly distributed here. 8) PF People buying carbon foils here aren't beginners, and are interested in racing only. I don't know if that's a world...

Re: The stagnant foiler.

Today was apparently 8 knots average with gusts of 12 knots. I had an excellent time foiling around...but then, my foil has nearly 4 times the area of yours :D
