So let me get this straight---- you are taking lessons through a school and they are advising you to buy gear and charging you book price for the gear?
That's SOP isn't it?

Re: Lightwind Kite recommendations (Big guy)

Don't have any recommendations for a bigger kite, but I would suggest having a look at a bigger board? Not just a big TT but a surfboard or something like the Shinnster or Paipo.. much cheaper than a kite and I think it helps to learn something new. This. IMO your kite needs go up exponentially and...

Re: mystery spare part

Yes, there appears to be two parts in the bag. I think you're the only one with crossed wires, take it up from the greenhat kiting link. The conversation was about the bungee cord, cos that's what in the link. If it included the grey rope thing yeah, but check out the greenhat link. It appears to b...

Re: mystery spare part

Plus the bungy inside, the tape on the ends, sewing machine rental, and your time :D I'd happily pay $8 for someone else to do it :thumb: If it included the grey rope thing yeah, but check out the greenhat link. It appears to be just a 10 cent piece of bungie cord with a knot tied in either end. Th...

Re: mystery spare part

Never been totally happy about entire function of the bar relying on 10 cents of eleastic! I always carry a spare piece as have seen two bars affected while in use. Though to be fair both bars had been very well used and the owners said they'd noticed the bungee losing its elasticity over last few ...

^ No. it says x2. So they're a totally reasonable $8.

Or, about 25 cents at your local fabric, sailing, or hardware store.

Re: Beginner waterstart - where my kite should be?

Fly the kite into the power zone. IMHO as a beginner, if you have to work the kite to get riding your kite is too small (unless gusty conditions make it unsafe). Once you can steer a kite successfully, you need to get onto the board and learn to control the edge; so a kite you can just dive and park...

Re: Jay XTC Flextech 2.0 harness

Find it easier to twist my body around to counter any unwanted rotations when dangling.

I ride topside a lot more now, simply because it's easier
