Re: whats your worst injury foiling ?

the injury I sustained could have easily happened on any strapped board. yeah strapless foiling would ultimately be less prone to experiencing injuries like this one, however riding style changes when riding strapless. I am finding that with straps I can take a foil out on the river in higher winds ...

Re: Best non-foil light wind board; directional or twin tip?

I rode a 2006 glide for years as my ultimate light wind board. I eventually took off the straps and added a deckpad. this made the ultimate skim board! I have since upgarded when i had mike at MTH boards build me a solid wood core board with same outline as the original glide, but adding a bit more ...

Re: whats your worst injury foiling ?

worst injury for me was a month ago. just performing a water surface gybe shuffling my feet and misfired myback foot by not getting pinky toe into foot strap. thought I broke my toe at first but after walking back to the car, it felt much worse than a broken toe. turned out the head of the metatarsa...

Re: Stringy's version of a sit-down foil.

thanks guys! I unfortunately had a mishap with my foot about a month ago. was just doing a foot shuffle after a surface gybe and missed the footstrap. terrible injury breaking my fifth metatarsal and possible surgery to repair the displaced bone! all because I missed the foot strap! anyhow time off ...

Re: Kite mount for new Sony action Cam??

I have one of these cams from sony. they sent it to me when it was first released. I immediately made a custom line mount and fin mount based on the water housing geometry. This was an early release when I received it and it did not come with the anti fog strips so I did experience some fogging in t...

Re: BRM control system

I had a chance to try the bar out today in hood river. Greg was here on holiday so he let me take out a 7m cloud 2nd gen kite with the new control bar. Bar is nice and simple. I could see if someone got the bar out of the box with no instructions it might be somewhat challenging to understand how it...

Re: Camrig Line mount mishap

hey guys, just catching up on this thread. yes it is possible to catch a steering line on the arms. I see this happening more in the waves when you slack your lines and loop your kite. I've had it happen more than once... first question, I assume this was from using the original design line mount, c...

Re: Liquid Force Solo kite - anyone have any comments / revi

I had the opportunity to jump on a 9m solo in hood river this weekend. winds a little gusty in the upper teens low 20s. I first thought ok this might be a good option for foiling because it seemed light. after a quick 15 minutes trying to ride his carafino foil, I grabbed my twintip and headed out t...

Re: Waterproof action cams

Interesting... just looked at amazon.com - when I bought my ROAM2 in 2012, it was $142 new... now the new ones are $100 more expensive :o guess with the company going under, people are milking the price on the very good thing the R2 is... Ion Air 3 looks like it could hit the spot - but I want a li...
