Re: MOST SEXY KITE PICTURE

Here is a video kinda misplaced because of the lack of kites but after you start watching you'll forget about kiting for a few minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6Ox6s1GTSk Thanks, that was great... Def a candidate Olympic sport... But...back on kitesurf types here's another one that I alway...

Re: HQ Neo 3 ,anyone with direct experience ? (closed cell f

There is a reason why most schools don't use foil kites, there is one extra dimension: keeping the air pressure in the foil to hold its shape. It is much easier to learn on a LEI first. Not sure that's accurate in my experience...depends on what you mean by shape. Most foils stay pretty well formed...

Re: How Many LEI Riders Own A Foil Kite For Ultra-Light Wind

I see a lots of slightly used race foil kites for sale now. Just like me, bought a Speed 3, tried it and take a hit, cut my losses and sell it. They're race kites so they upgrade every year...or even more often. There's a lot more using foils now so there will be a lot more for sale good condition ...

Re: How Many LEI Riders Own A Foil Kite For Ultra-Light Wind

I tend to like tube kites up to about 12m then switch to foil kites. They are very different...but I enjoythe differences. Also...some of the big kites like a Flysurfer s3 15m are so good you can start of in a light wind...say 12mph...and if the wind builds to low / mid 20's you're still riding and ...

Re: What is the value of traing kites? I don't get it.

There are some brilliant little trainer kites out there that let people learn a lot in relative safety. I like the https://www.oceanrodeo.com/products/react The little inflatables from Ozone and Epic are, I'm sure, good too. I've also flown and enjoyed the Flysurfer trainer....and it's definitely wo...

Re: kitesize dilemma

Totally depends on person and conditions but if you've only got the readies for 2 kites go with a reasonable split. I've found 11 / 8 has worked with a couple of kite types now. The 11 works nice up to mid 20's mph and can still hold it down in gusts to 30. The 8 starts to work at about 20 mph and t...

Re: How can you afford to start kiteboarding?

It's never 'cheap'...you either pay for lessons and shorten the time it takes to be a safe, competent, kite surfer or you take all kinds of 'short cuts'....learn and unlearn stuff...play with crap stuff...and generally muck about till you eventually get there. You can sure learn on your own...people...

Re: New Woo Record 20,3m (66,6ft) by Gilion Goviea from Flui

that's a decent air time for a big jump (if that thing is accurate) 17m and 7 seconds wow! Surely more than 30 knots, thing is I know I've done 8 second jumps but I doubt I was that high... If you want hang time switch to a foil like Flysurfer or Ozone. You won't jump as high but I found gliding 7 ...
