Re: how to go fast on hydrofoil

With your gear you should be able to go fast. Two things come to mind.. Keep your kite low and edge against it hard. This works when you go upwind or downwind. It makes you stable. If you can’t bring your kite low, use your depower adjustment until you can. Try the different shims that came with you...

Re: Board short harness

I have been using the Dakine Nitrous shorts for years. I am on my second pair and I am happy with them. They seem to last well over 200 sessions before the webbing wears out which is about three years for me.. (this is the same life as any harness for me). They are a bit less bulky than the Ion shor...

Re: Tuttle vs Deep tuttle

Here are some dimensions. A normal Tuttle mast should fit in a deep Tuttle box just fine. Sometimes the bolt holes are a bit off but that just takes a little attention. I have been riding a normal Tuttle mast (Taaroa Joy) in a deep Tuttle box (Mikes Lab) for quite a while now with no problems. Remem...

Re: Any experience with high load jumping using a "kite foil box"

The KF Box and the Tuttle box and the Pro Box all are designed to take most of the forces on the sides and front/back edges of the box. The screws used to hold them in place shouldn't normally see much load. In fact Alpine used only one screw, (although now they have gone to two screws). The plate s...

Re: Mast Length for Boosting

Jumping is a lot of fun with a foil and not difficult. Whenever I think I should go back to strapless riding again I am reminded that you can't jump very well without straps so I stick with them. It is great to throw a big back roll in front of my friends who ride strapless. I am on a 100cm mast and...

Re: Kitefoil Gold Cup Pingtan China

Day 2 If the setting in China had changed, little else had. In the opening skirmishes at the KiteFoil World Series in Pingtan, Monaco’s Maxime Nocher picked up where he left off a week ago at the tour’s first stop in Weifang Binhai. The multiple world champion scooped a clean sweep of four bullets i...

Day 1
Difficult conditions overshadow the first day at the 2018 KiteFoil GoldCup World Series in Pingtan, China. The officials decided not to race on day one to keep everyone safe.

Kitefoil Gold Cup Pingtan China

This is the second event in this series and starts Monday Sept 10th.
Most of the best racers in the world will be there.
Below is the standings after the first event:
(great to see some relative newcomers like Guy Bridge and Conner Bainbridge doing well)

Re: 20 Years of Kiting!

Congratulations Rick. I started a bit later in 1999 with a Wipika 5.0 classic (2 lines) and Timpone board. Fun times. :D

Who would have thought we'd be hydrofoiling now. :o

Thanks for all the safety work you've done over the years Rick.
