Re: Vanguard- FCS or Futures?

Just my 2c: Started last year with a thruster set up on my VG 5'2" and later switched to a very simple F4 Quad Thermotech setup (50 euros for a 5 fin set). This totally transformed the board for me! From a very capable board, but not much better than my former North pro series, it is now so much mor...

Re: New Ride Engine harness review

I've just used the hexcore in Brazil: daily downwinders and no more backpain in spite of kiting every day for 4-5 hours! I also brought my Jaybar (using it for the past 2 years with great satisfaction!) and was able to use it on the RE by feeding the PU loop directly through the steel where the webb...

Re: Why do Firewire Tomo shapes work so well?

Hey Ed, how's life in Brazil? (saw your post on Hanglos) I'm still enjoying the VG you sold me (with fins, as you now regret), would like to try the Vader as well! But to put things in perspective: I was in Brazil last month and brought the VG 5'2 as well as my old North pro series 5'10 as backup. I...

Pivot: material around scuff guard letting loose, problem?

Anyone else seen this happening? And any tips on glue or other measures to take?
I't quite hard to get the sand of the sticky material and create a new flat surface for glue to hold is my impression..

All the seals around the scuff guards seem to be affected more or less.

Re: Warning: Naish bar secretly wants to slash your face!

In water that material shouldn't have any more friction. Not to critique your riding, but if you get bumped in your head by your bar a lot you might want to consider changing that :) Good point, will have to work on that. Because wind is mainly onshore here the risk of colliding with your bar when ...

Re: Warning: Naish bar secretly wants to slash your face!

Tho oise parts are super soft. I think it's just the force being applied. Would happen with any bar. Could be but I'm not sure: the material has a consistency like an eraser (for pencils) which is softer than hard plastic but also tends to 'stick' to your skin on contact so it might just cause the ...

Re: WARNING: Naish bar secretly wants to slash your face!

how about a helmet? Right on, actually I have been wearing my Gath for the better part of the 14 years I've been kiting, especially in the surf. Have had boards knock in to my head quite a couple of times.. Left the helmet in the car this time because the waves weren't that high. I do seem to be th...

Re: WARNING: Naish bar secretly wants to slash your face!

Or learn some better skills - so your bar doesn't get embarrassed and beat you down :thumb: That made me LOL! Guess you nailed the problem! @ Bille, it is the pointy stuff I'm worrried about indeed, other bars I've used were usually well rounded.. not sure about shaving anything off though, I'll ha...

Warning: Naish bar secretly wants to slash your face!

Well, just bought some brand new pivots (2015 models 7 and 9 in a clear out sale) to go with my new firewire VG 5'2". Took the 7m out in a solid 25knots and 1,5-2m waves, great conditions. First impressions were good, smooth power delivery etc but had to abort the session after the bar smacked me in...
