Re: Big Kiteloops always end in an enema

Go higher and don't loop in to low wind, that's a nice way to destroy your knees. I looped my kite a few months ago in 27-28 knots and because I wasn't high enough (6-7m) I hit the backside of a wave full on and my knees hurt for a week. Tell my friend that who did his ACL looping his 12 in 20 knots.

Re: Big Kiteloops always end in an enema

Sounds like potentially two things. Wrong kite or you're not going high enough or both. The higher you go the easier it is to swing under the kite. No point trying to do proper loops on anything bigger than a 10 and you need to be pretty lit too. You could always try longer lines as the kite will lo...

Re: How fast can you go on a TT?

I've done 42 knots on my Axis LTD. That was peak. I can maintain about 38 quite comfortably on very flat water.

Re: Self-Rescue: The big problem with Ram airs

PMU you're right.

It is easier to self rescue on a tube kite.

Won't change my quiver though... I have only been rescued once in 16 years of kiting.

Re: Search underway for missing kite-surfer off Sandy Hook NJ

For what it's worth, I was there that day. When I got there, there were only 2 or 3 people on the water. I didn't see any kites downwind or people in trouble. The wind was steady. I weigh 150 pounds and was well powered on a 12. An article I read said he was experienced and lived in Cape Town. I th...

Re: Gap jump, tether, kiteloop and stupid stuff

such a sick spot! would love to go one day.

For jumping really far, the swinging kite forwards method really works. You can go a seriously long way when you're super lit and you wang the kite forward just before you get to the apex of your jump.
